Got some work done in the new engine. Got the cam gears installed, fuel rail installed, ruthenium spark plugs installed, valve covers installed, new valve cover gaskets

The tensioner bolts got torqued and blue loctite.

The heads don’t like near as clean as old engine. Guessing it’s from engine sitting with old oil for a while but didn’t see any wear on the cams.

I will be pulling the oil pans and resealing them just for peace of mine and to see how dirty they are.

Tomorrow, will put the pulleys on, new water pump, headers, motor mounts, dip stick, and do all the water neck/thermostat housing. Saturday should be installing the thing.

yep, i think i have only put about 1500 miles on it since engine replacement. premium gas sucks especially when i only get about 14-15 mpg. still enjoy the truck just damn near cant afford to drive the thing.

I hear you. Im trying to fully build my truck, just to go 3 miles to work.. Almost done with my pile of parts though! 2 big things left - mid travel bypasses will probably go on this year, and fj tcase next year.

i doubt ill do more to the truck other than just regular upkeep at this point. probably wont be anything major unless something fails, then ill upgrade. Moving back to the SE once i retire from the Army will help with things to since cost of living will be a little bit better than washington state

added a switch under the hood for the winch. mainly did it to keep it off because i added in cab winch controls that will mount to the cupholder panel once i get that installed. waiting for it to 3d print.

got my 3d printed cupholder from https://bluedogdesignwerks.com/collections/all its a custom piece made and not on his website. I did run into an issue installing in. the outside diameter of the cup holders are a little big and had to trim down the console side to get it to fit. they are bigger underneath to have them reinforced. 5 mins with a Dremel and its fine now.

Feels like deja vu. Nothing wrong with it, this time. Just shipping it to Georgia for when we move next month. IMG_6813.jpg

Your truck is still looking sharp. The paint is in a heck of a lot better shape than mine.

It’s good from afar. The hood and roof are not in the best shape not peeling wise but just really dirty/mold or what on it. Lots of paint chips on the hood.
The sides are in pretty good shape.
The camper shell is peeling bad on the passenger side top.

busted out the awning room to see what it looks like and figure out how to install. its easy to install. packing it back up in its sack on the other hand sucks. like why do companies not make these storage bags bigger to where its easier to get the shit back into? anyways, enough of a rant on that, here is what it looks like. its not strapped all the way down and the wind was blowing but you get the idea

    going green.

    20241204 - Solar Power 1.jpg

its installed, but no wiring has been ran yet. and the mounts are a little crooked cuz the bolt holes i drilled are exact size of bolts so had to do what i can to get them all bolted down.

also @Torspd, you can see how faded and peeling the paint is on the camper shell i mentioned before
