    im pretty sure Wyatt said a 6spd fj case wouldn't work at all. If u put a auto fj case behind a crawler and a 6spd, u don't have to swap the input shafts out.

    The FJ case swap is pretty simple but there are some things you need to know. Like stated above by wrmathis, if you have a six speed Taco, you do not want to use the six speed FJ case because it has the center diff lock inside which is used for all wheel drive. Use the one from the auto FJ's and just swap out your input from your case to the FJ case. I have a write up on that as well.

    Also, you MUST have a switch to operate your ADD whether that is a manual switch or the FJ CPU. You cannot just wire up your ADD to the postion sensors on the case because the ADD system is a momentary on off system so you'll need a switch that is momentary on off. Other wise you'll burn up your ADD actuator at the diff and you'll be 2wd again, or permanent 4wd depending on how it was when it burned up.

    Make sure you follow the instructions in the build threads and unless you have a bunch of money, don't stray too far from them.

    Are you planning a crawler setup or just a t-case swap?

    Also, yeah, it's rough to decide where to stop. The Rabbit Hole never ends, so given infinite time and money we all end up like Wyatt. Trouble is, neither is infinite in practice.

    This is why I picked a stopping point for mine as a moderately capable wheeler with great utility and street manners. I'll pick something else up for the body damage and flip-me-back-over-that-line-is-bullshit trails.
