I know there are similar designs out there to add switches to the center console, but most/all were either unavailable/out of stock, or too expensive/complicated/difficult to configure exactly the way I needed. So, I decided to make my own!

I started by taking some measurements, which is not super easy due to the location and shape of the area. I then drew up a quick plate in Fusion360 and threw it on the printer for fit verification:

After I was happy with the fit, I moved to the CNC Plasma table and made a plate from 6061 Aluminum:

Once I realized that 8 switches wouldn't fit due to the sloped inner walls of the console cavity, I dropped down to 7 cutouts, cut a new plate, and shot it with some metallic grey rattle can paint I had lying around:

The plate is designed to comfortably fit 7x Carling Contura V rocker switches, such as those available from OTRATTW and many other places. The switches are very positively retained, and the plate itself sits nicely in the space just in front of the cup holders. Note that this is an automatic, I think the manual layout is different.

Now, I just have to figure out what 7 things I want to have switches for!

I've attached a ZIP archive with an STL file, should anyone wish to 3D-print one for themselves, as well as a STEP file (3D model), should anyone wish to modify the design or put it on a plasma table.

I am tossing around the idea of making these for anyone who is interested, but I will decide that based on responses to this thread.

    Thanks for stopping in!
