I'm just outside Leesburg, but work in Fairfax. Used to drive to Waldorf for work everyday.

Ha ha... No, probably not. Forging is a totally different process, and that really takes some talent. I've watched that a few times and some of those guys are bad ass.

Sorry, to hear that (that you had to work here), I grew up in Waldorf. Fun place in the 80s, now it's just lower DC...

Leesburg is a nice area, getting to be too crowded, just like every place around here. I bought some hunting land here in southern MD, then decided to build on it and move. I love La Plata, still farming land around here, but close enough to DC to where my commute isn't crazy.

Thanks - How do you shrink leather? The knife/sheath is about 20 years old and the sheath is a bit stretched not holding the knife snugly - just needs a tweak

I don't know of anyway to shrink it, other than getting it wet and applying a little heat. The problem is, wetting leather after it's been dyed sometimes doesn't work too well. One thing you can try is to get some thin leather and epoxy it to the inner part of the sheath to create a liner effect. I've had to do it and it does work. As a last resort you could do that, or maybe stitch some extra stitching in it to tighten the leather down some.

That's how we ended up put here, looking for hunting land and ended up finding some good land with a house.
Perfect mix of farm on one side, stream on the other, and I got the woods, so it's a highway for animals.

Sorry for the late response, been busy today and didn't start checking the forum till later on.

Yes, #3 is still available, only #4 has been sold at this point. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask me.

Also, #3 is more of skinner. It has a thinner handle than the others, but still a great overall look and feel. The only ones that aren't the best skinners are probably the 1/4" thick ones. While they do work for skinning, they are more of a heavy chopper or work blade.
