Id feel invincible too if I had a rack looking that good! You Sir have made me reconsider the whole roof light bar idea entirely! Zack makes awesome racks but that light bar setup looks badass paired with it

Thanx so much! I think the rack light bar combo is the perfect pair, can't have one without the other.

How many cross bars did you order? Looks to me like 8 +1 for the fairing/light bar

Correct, the one for the light bar doubles to hold the fairing.

Would you recommend getting a couple extra HD bars or would the standard 6 be sufficient?

Hey Chux, any chance you'd share the specifics (measurements and such) of your TREDs holder? I just ordered a pair yesterday and would love to replicate your setup.

    Thanx Dude

Yea for sure! I don't have any measurements off hand and we're getting snowed on right now. I'll get you some measurements in a few days.

But I basically measured the width of the TREDs, and add an inch or so to cut the angle iron. Then stacked the TREDs and measured how tall they are, then added an inch or two again and bought 3/8 bolts in that length. Center the TREDs over the angle iron and using the stock mounting holes mark the centers. Drill out the holes, tighten the bolt down, mount both angle iron to the cross bars, and adjust the cross bar for front to rear length to match the TRED mounting holes. Not much else to it.

Did you cut that plexi with a circular saw? That is talent.

    Excellent job on this.

It really all depends on your personal needs..

I got lucky with mine. Knowing exactly what I wanted to mount on the rack and knowing its going to live up there, I started laying out the mounts and accessories to my liking. I wanted all the forward most part of the accessories to be lined up. Given they are all different lengths with different mounts, mounted they all used different bars. I think all of the bars are mounted on to give the accessories a clean mounted look. Except the center one but I will be using it to add a bolt to for the center of the Rotopax mount, there is some rattling noise when the fuel can is empty. Basicalle the more bars you have the more options you have. I could in fact mount the same thing I have with less bars, but it wouldnt be as easy or clean.

Thanx Dude! Yea, circular saw with grinding wheel attached. Had the table guide pulled up to just more than the thickness of the plexiglass. Doing this makes cutting anything on a curve easier.

I'm gonna house my TREDS, Plano case, and a kayak carrier on mine. Trying to decide if I should add a couple extra bars to my order or not

I'd say if your ballin' grab the extra rails. If your trying to save costs, see if you can set yourself up with supplied rails. If not order another rail or two. So you know, there are spots on the side rails for the bars to be in a fixed in one place and slots for the bars to be bolted in yet adjusted forward to rear depending on your application. This allows for different configuration of where the bars are set. So I'm sayin you can get supplied bars if you go that route and use the slots to adjust the bars where you need them.

Nice work. Looks like a lot of fun to create a new solution for the light bar and fairing.
