My DAC is really loud, is that normal?

i put my truck into 4 low and hit the DAC button when going down steep hills and the entire time my truck makes like a grinding/scraping/popping noise. I'm just wondering if that's normal or if there's something wrong. Hopefully I can get it figured out, if not I'll have to see if I can get a video next time I go out wheeling.
