Besides, I need to get the body lift installed first. Makes doing the FJ swap easier I guess.

Correct, which is exactly how his truck is already setup. Again, read those threads, bunch of folks doing that with the FJ manual case. I have no skin in the game, but I put in the non-ADD tube in with my Atlas install and it’s working out great.

Not really, he has an xfer case designed for that application whereas the manual xfer case from the automatic FJ is not. Not saying it wouldn’t work as I’ve never tried but I have read pretty much everything from RST and they’re saying that way you get oil leaking out the top...

Found out that my cruise control is not working. Turns on but won't set. Not sure if that is related to having the actuators on the tcase unplugged or not.

Also discovered the rear hatch wiper is not working. Not sure what's going on there either. Both worked previously and I haven't done any wiring or anything that would have affected those systems as far as I know. Have to troubleshoot later.

It is. I did notice that after the 4R sitting in the garage for the last week while I waited for the tcase parts to arrive, when I did finally start driving it again yesterday, I had to reset the driver side window auto-down/up. Seems like even tho I didn't disconnect the battery or anything, it forgot the limits and had to reset them. Maybe need to do the same with the rear window to get the wiper working? Dunno.

Is there a reset procedure for the cruise control too? I'll have to dig into the service manual when I get home from work today.

Roll the window down. Roll it back up and see if that works.
As for cruise make sure there’s no codes stored

Thanks, will give it a shot on the way home this afternoon and check for codes once I'm home.

    I has FJ transfer case!

Out of a 2011 FJ with only 130,891 miles on it. Shifting works perfectly and no visible leaks. Still the factory seal on the clamshell too. Not to shabby for $249.78.

Well, tried unplugging the 4wd ecu in the 4R to get rid of the flashing 4lo and center diff lock lights. Unfortunately, that kills off the VSC and I get both those lights in my face. Even tried one plug or the other but still a no-go. Going to have to review the wiring diagrams to see if I can just remove a couple wires for the blinky-blinky lights. At least it's easy to get to, don't even need to pull the glove box. Although I did while I was searching for it.

It's located on this panel UNDER the glove box. 1 screw holds it in place, along with 3 clips.

Panel removed, ignore the missing glove box, it can stay in place. The grey box is the 4wd ECU.

And it's out. But I put it back in to get VSC back.

Interested if you figure it out, I’m in the same boat but opted for no VSC currently.

Forgot to mention that rolling the rear window down and back up to it's stops resolved the issue of the rear wiper not working.

I have not checked for codes on the cruise yet, which is still not working at this point.

Found the wires. Un-pinned them from the plug going into the 4wd ecu and now more 4LO and CDL lights on the dash.

They are in the left hand plug when you have them facing you to unplug. Not sure if the wire colors are consistent across years for the 4th gens or not but my 2003, it was the green w/ red stripe wire for the CDL light and the brown w/ white stripe for the 4LO light.

For the 4WD light on the V6 4Rs, there is also a green w/ white stripe wire in the same plug for the 4WD indicator on the dash. I tried grounding that wire out on mine but no light. I guess since I don't have ADD, the bulb either isn't there or the wiring isn't complete. I'll have to pull the dash someday and see if the 4WD indicator is there and just needs a bulb.

Now I can tap into those when I have the FJ case in to show 4WD hi using the CDL light (ADD engaged and 4HI) and 4LO using the 4LO light.

In this pic, it's the plug closest to the camera, that is attached to the panel.

I decided I really hated the way the hood blackout looked with the matte finish paint and decided to repaint it a 3rd time. Used Duplicolor rocker panel black paint this time. Slightly textured. Painted the hood and grill with it. I think I like it so far.

Mostly. The first 2 wires unpinned with some difficulty. I might have mangled the plug slightly but it still plugs in. The 3rd wire I found for indicator lights broke when I tried to unpin it from the plug. That's the 4WD light for the V6s anyhow and it doesn't do anything in my 4R. At least not yet. I might pull the dash and see if the bulb or LED is missing and get it working eventually.

The led should be there. The clusters are all the same minus the tac steeper motor.
