My diy version of adding puddle lights cheap and effective

So I wanted to add puddle lights to mirrors. I thought about buying 4runner mirrors and aftermarkets and doing the swap but didn’t want to spend a lot of money to get the output I want. The turn signals in the other mirrors would of been nice to have but it wasn’t a priority.
So I bought these lights for $15 bucks

So I took the door apart and fished a wire through the door up the mirrors. Then I took the mirrors off and disassembled then to get the wires to the glass. Next I pulled the glass off and figured out the best spot to drill the holes not to interfere with the power mirror function. Drilled hole and secured lights with supplied nut and a dab of blue loctite so the vibration from driving won’t loosen the nut. Time to splice wires. Stripped soldered and shrink tubed.after doing both sides i ran wires to fuse block and tapped into the blue and white wire for the dome circuit. Tested and made sure everything worked. Now just reverse everything.now have to wait till dark. They turned out better than expected heres some pics

 

Are these lights still working? My driver side just went out a few days ago but i also went with some Amazon ones.
