    2014 Tacoma DC 4WD SB 6 spd 4.0 w/SC getting installed as I type at 6k miles.

Have mildest URD (2.875 I think) pulley for SC and Walbro fuel system upgrade shipping. Already have delivered 285/75r16 BFG ATs on 4.5 BS at 0 offset rims. Also ordered OME 885s, Bilstien 5100 F/R and progressive 3pack rear aal.

Should I go ahead and put on new UCAs? Do I NEED them?

THIS IS A BS MALLCRAWLER, I'll be the 1st to say it.

Do I need to address braking issues (if any)?

I have the ultra-gauge OBDII gauge in and a boost and AFR gauge to install.

Anything else ya'll would do or that I need?
    Bash away!

EDIT: I am almost 40 years old and have saved my ass off to put together a truck I have always wanted. I don't know what's worse, having daddy buy something like I'm attempting or having a mi-life crisis! I want a reliable truck (still questioning doing the pulley/fuel upgrade, opinions?) that rides decent but still has an aggressive-ish stance. I'm not (were) gonna do lower 2 at Tellico or Winch Hill at GrayRock but by God I"ll destroy that curb I hop to illegally park at a Harbor Freight sale! Seriously though, I actually do need some REAL advice.

Lol miss spelling the title really seals it! J/K

If your gonna run 885's on 5100's you should only run them at 0 (the lowest setting) the 885 coils will give you right at 2.5" You won't need uca's to get by but it would be nice to have them. You will be able to get the alignment "in spec" and it will drive fine. AM UCA's will only make things better. No need to really be concerned about braking. Sounds like you've got just about every thing you need! My only concern is your 285's are gonna be snug. They might even rub when you hit the speed bump in the mall parking lot! But you can probably get some snips and a heat gun and make ya enough room.

Magnetic Taco -> What makes you say that having UCAs will make things better? I'm never going to a larger tire (they all say that) so if I don't have to mess with changing them than I won't.

Larger tires isnt whats affecting your alignment, its the lift. Right at 2.5 you can get it in spec but UCAs make it way easier. It all depends on how often you want to change tires

    Ditto.
Go with the install, then talk with your alignment tech.

See how far he adjusted camber/caster and how much more room he has. You might see that he has used up all the adjustment you have. That's when UCA's come in, or if you have coilover clearance issues , which from your purpose that's doubtful.

Lifts are like anything else aftermarket. You may have to tweak it. If you find you can get away w/o it. More power to you. Otherwise you will know where to find the fix.

BTW. 44 here. Not exactly midlife crisis purchase, but am trying to add a lil fun in my life, and thrashing my Taco is helping.

Put the lift and tires on. Set it at 2.5" of lift and get an alignment. I doubt you will need UCA's so why buy them if you may not need them? You will need to do some inner plastic trimming front and back of the wheel well to minimize rubbing.

You spend the money for a s/c and fuel upgrades, a nice lift and probably nice wheels and tires, why not spend another $375 for at least LR ucas?

There is hours of reading on this subject. I said the same thing to myself "why change them of i can get by without them?" Do some research. You will learn how it will make your truck drive better, and perform better by allowing you to get a better alignment and allowing the suspension to function properly. Not to mention a lot less stress on suspension components. Again im not saying you NEED them(my truck dosent have them yet but they are on the way) just saying its only an upgrade. All of these guys on here that are in the know will tell you the same thing. When i looked at my truck and could see the severe angle of the upper ball joint i knew it was something that should be done.

Besides. You asked what we would add or consider. We really are keeping it conservative.

Just wait a min and when the teenagers wake up you will hear about exhaust add ons, CAI's , nitrous, Kings and Icons, Deavers and Dakars, LT setups , 12" lifts, SAS, armor and 44" tires that you "need to have" on your mall crawler.

Thanks guys for all the replies! Please keep them coming!
OK, I'll go for the UCA. Which one do I want
    A. OR
    B. The price difference doesn't matter if the more expensive one will be more maintenance free/reliable/never have to think about it again. Isn't it concerning that the uniball (or whatever) get grit in it and the get slop like heims? Is it better to use my almost new Toyota balljoint and get "B"? I just don't want to press them in or beat them out w/ a pickle fork.
Or is there a better option or recommendation?

    Thanks,
    Adam

Take at look at these, the uni ball type on either the All Pro or the Camburg are suppose to be really tough, easy to replace and not that expensive. From what i have read, i have not done this myself.

OK, I just got the AllPro arms ( ) and 2 spare bearings and they only seem to cost me $350 b/c I had a PayPal balance that I was unaware of.

How much is my speedo gonna be out going from 265/65r17 to 285/75r16? Is it gonna be enough to be concerned and if so can Toyota recalibrate? I CANNOT get another ticket!

For the speedo calibration, I bought myself a Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator from AutoAnything. There was a 4th of July sale where I received $40 off and free shipping. It came out to $159 shipped to my door. I am going from 265 to 285 this weekend. It is already installed and I just have to plug in my laptop Brian O'Connor style and I will be "danger-to-manifolding" my way to a correct speedometer.

I see, but I would really like it just recalibrated for a nominal fee, is there such a creature? Forgive me if I'm lost on the need for speed reference. Whatcha mean?

Damn, Toytec is fast! Just got all 4 5100s (sexy!) and, if needed, axle shims and carrier drop.

    Thanks Toytec and FedEx!
