Those look great. I wonder if they are made in the same factory as OEM. Also wonder how the output is compared with OEM. @crashnburn80 do you have any info?

They are not. There are many Chinese copies out now that look extremely similar to OEM. However their performance is all terrible compared to OEM. They lack the precision optics, are typically lower power or even reduced emitter count and don’t hold a candle to the real thing. They are sold based on looking like OEM LEDs for a fraction of the price, but severely lack the actual lighting performance. Many are actually a downgrade from the halogens.

Here I’ll help if anyone reads this in the future. This was an upgrade from my halogens, light output is better, they look ten times better, especially if your trying to get rid of the chrome on your truck, and of course it lacks the light output of oem lights that costs more. Still worth the money in my opinion.

And depo lights are sold to look like OEM purely for body shops, not for people that are wanting to “try” to do anything, it’s a way to keep body shop repair costs down

Alway in awe when someone swaps out any engine/transmission/transfer case type components and the truck still works. Great job!

Not that it looks like you would but I can’t imagine the confusion if you took your truck to a dealer for something.

Thanks for the response but let me get this clear.

So I personally removed my oem halogen headlights from MY truck, then installed these DEPO LED headlights. Drove MY truck at night time out in the middle of nowhere where it’s pitch dark outside. Noticed a noticeable light output difference between the two, but I’m wrong because you read somewhere in a forum that someone said they were not very good?

just trying to clear things up

Picked up a transmission and transfer case and TCM today from a local salvage yard, I’m now in really uncharted territory, not to many people have swapped a LF3 into many different vehicles, no one has swapped anything into a 3rd gen, now I’m trying to make a LF3 4 wheel drive lol

Transmission and T-case is from a 2018 Colorado with 10k miles.

I have some cool stuff coming from my buddy Mitch from SwaptimeUSA that I’m excited to show you to help with this but that stuff should be here next week sometime

my goal this weekend is to try and get this Tranny in and mounted in the truck

BTW I have no idea if this trans will even mount to the LF3 lol

A LF3 powered 2wd Tacoma would be a super fun Street machine, but I appreciate the drive to make the 4wd functional. Looking forward to seeing your progress

trust me a 2wd twin turbo Tacoma is fun, but I told myself I wasn’t making a drag truck I was making something more enjoyable to drive and still go off-road and overlanding

Dropping in to say thanks for the fuel pump info. Working on my swap and fuel was up on the list.

The 2nd gen with Aeromotive pump worked like a charm

Appreciate ya posting it  since ya know there’s so much 3rd gen stuff out there that is out of the ordinary lol

No problem man if you have any other questions let me know, looks like I’ll be starting a LS swapped 3rd gen in the coming months so it should be a lot easier after doing this
