It's less Tacoma and more mod
My man wanted to transport the rock sliders all wrapped up to protect the powdercoat, to someone else to literally put bolts and nuts together.... these parts aren't gonna get used anyway, probably could have hung em without the missing pieces and never been any the wiser.

    1) that photo you posted of the sliders in the bed looks like the perfect spot to install the sliders. I've done it with less room, no creeper, and just one buddy. It's easy.
    2) They owe you exactly what you bought, which includes the proper hardware. I too would be annoyed by this. I would likely just go purchase the hardware needed from a local hardware store though... Not one to delay an install over a bolt ha
    3) They owe you just that. What you purchased. You are not entitled to anything more, though you may want it. Unless it's in their Warranty/Customer Service policy somewhere, I don't believe that you should just be given additional free money simply because you asked. While good customer service is appreciated, mediocre customer service does not warrant having a shit fit in my opinion. I own nothing from CBI, my prinsu is prior to them acquiring it so I have no dog in this fight. I'm just not a fan of the entitled behavior and reaction to the situation.

Take some personal responsibility, check your parts lists, and unless its a specialty part, if you can afford those sliders, you can afford a $0.30 bolt so the shop can complete the install!

Just my opinion, take it or leave it.

At least the description will be honest when they're listed as "Never been offroad"...

    Reading through this thread...just wow!

Sliders are much heavier than the plain-Jane ones I bought. A skid was required for delivery? That's heavy Duty.

A lesson learned for sure...better buy your own shrink-wrap to re-pack the shipment once you do the inventory next time...lol.

In all seriousness, I review threads like this for learning as well.

We love our Tacomas and sharing stories about improvements we plan/have done. To see a hiccup/delay is a bummer.

In the end, just enjoy the new install. Good luck with the rest of your planned purchases.

Yeah to protect the powder coat on rock sliders. Rock sliders. Things that are designed to slide on rocks.

when you pay a grand for 150lbs of welded steel and a paint job, you're damn right that powder coat should be intact. what the owner does with it after is on them.

With the parts shortages and problems now days it's only common sense to verify you got everything before doing any install. Next time take off pallet, check/verify parts, wrap sliders in blanket and put in truck for transport.

Maybe it should get wrapped in pink ribbon once it’s installed to protect it from scratches.

I purchased their Covert Baja Bumper for my wife’s 4runner. During install, the installer realized there were parts missing, I checked the hardware when I got the bumper delivered. However there was no hardware list or anything with the packaging showing what should be in there.

I made the assumption everything was in the bag. Installer was cool about it and didn’t charge me for taking the stock bumper off and putting it back on after discovering the missing parts. This was on a Saturday, I wasted about 2-3 hours driving back and forth etc. Wasn't super mad but annoyed.

I called on Monday to get them to ship me the parts missing. The woman on the phone seemed nice and said they’d get them shipped out right away. I waited till Wednesday and still hasn’t received a shipping confirmation. I emailed them and she informed me they hadn’t shipped it yet but they would. I got a shipping label on Thursday but it showed “shipping label created”.

I called on Friday because the status hadn’t changed. The lady picked up the phone and hung up on me immediately. She did this several times and then sent an email saying “she was in a training class” and that she would get back to me later.

On Monday I got a shipping confirmation with another tracking number.

I eventually got my parts but they were rude, showed zero urgency on getting me my missing parts. I’d never buy from them again.

I have rci everything else and their customer service and products have been wonderful. Received my sliders damaged (by courier) and they made it right immediately on the same phone call.

When buying stuff like this, the shipping companies tend to "misplace" small hardware or parts. This is the main reason you check to make sure all the parts are there.

the powder coat was all messed up. Looked like FedEx had been playing football with the box. Holes and the box was torn apart. I understand their going to get messed up, but I want to do the messing up not someone else lol. Rci issued me a refund to paint them.
