My factory wiper blades are bad after 1 month :/

is this the whole arm or just the rubber inserts....when I have mine replaced at the 20k, i asked for blades to be change paid $40....maybe I should have asked for inserts

 

...I live in the desert so no help here. Not really sure why I commented on this.

 

2yrs on the OE wipers, still look good as new. I do clean my windshield with vinegar/water mix and 0000 steelwool, but that probably doesn't help the longevity of the wipers though.

 

Wait, are you saying you clean your windshield with steel wool.

Yes it is the entire piece. I use these because snow and ice don't build up on them.

 

I have heard these PIAA Super Silicone wiper blades lasting over 6 years and they understate it lasting 2x longer.

I agree about not using alcohol, what you should use is denatured alcohol to clean the wiper blades and do it a few times till no black residue is coming off on the rag.

 

WD-40 will stop the squeaking..!!

Seriously though...I'm still original Sept 2015 blades.....I bought a set of inserts to have on hand, but not used them yet.... 3 winters and still good.

I think Toyota OEM are the best wipers out there..!! ..

Here in the mid-atlantic region we do experience some what of a winter and Bosch wipers have treated me nicely over the years.

 

I asked about replacement inserts at the dealer the other day and the parts guy looked at me like I was crazy. He tried to sell me some rainx ones he had on display.
