If you want compass, nav, temp, etc go price out an F150 that'll run $20k more than what you spent.

But yes you can get nav and a better audio package for $30k. Sport DCSB 4x4 5a JBL tow (with nav of course) $30,061 with a $750 rebate. Just have to shop around. Msrp was $35,300

It's hard to figure out who is an a-hole, a sarcastic thinks it's funny or a just poor choice of typed words on the net and
don't get me started about email.
With that said OP, don't sweat ANY comment you see here. MOSTLY thoughts are for you to ponder not take personally. Garbage in Garbage out if you so choose. I would give it some more time before you truly decide you don't like the Taco. I went from a Kia Soul with all the bells and whistles to the Taco and I am fine without everything but the heated mirrors. Everything else..eh I knew it all going in just on a test drive. Stealership wanted to upsell me to a Tundra for the heated mirrors.. Why? I own a shop towel and wanted a great reliable mid size truck that fits in one parking spot. :)

You could just take them off and store them in a cubby-hole. I just got my 2015 and I'm considering doing that. But you definitely want them there if someone is riding in back. If you get rear-ended they'll bash their head hard on the back window.

The cons seem like things we've gotten used to having but not needing. I really hate that my camera won't double up as a phone though. I'm really not sure what people are looking for in this TRUCK. It's a truck.....If you want all the fancy stuff the competition offers why buy a Tacoma...I love my truck. I love the manual transmission in my truck, I love that it takes a calendar month to calculate it's 0-60 times, I don't care that it gets 17MPG. I bought it KNOWING all these things, so why would they all of a sudden be a concern to me AFTER I bought it.....

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Thankfully I have heat, A/C and a 6' Motel room right behind me!

I agree with you on the seats not so comfortable . I'm considering an upgrade to captain's chairs.

I think I agree with you on everything you mentioned in regards to the positive " truck features." The Tacoma IS a truck and doesn't NEED the gadgetry. The only thing that catches me is that my buddy recently bought a 2015 SR5 Tundra and I have the 14 TRD Sport Tacoma. My truck's package is basically the top of what was offered as far as interior features. His is like 3 steps down. For some reason, his has some electronic gadgetry that mine does not...like estimated range until next fillup, avg mpg calculator (probably inaccurate after upping tire size anyways). It's not a really big deal to me - it's just that I don't understand Toyota's tier structure for package upgrades - when they aren't consistent across the board. And then to have a feature and then pull it away the next year, seems strange such as rear view mirror compass. I think they need to keep a better ear to the ground when it comes to listening to what their (very loyal) customers want and do not want. My lady's Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with far more little accessories, such as cupholder lights, interior accent lights and other small ammenities that just make driving that much more enjoyable. I would much rather have a Toyota than a Jeep but there comes a point where "it's a truck" is no longer an excuse to leave out the details. Not to mention those details are of virtually no cost to add to a vehicle. A $400 PlayStation console still packs more technology than most vehicle's head displays are able to offer.

[QUOTE="bert8, post: 10709919, member: 162237" For the price tag I wish there were a few more ups but what can ya do.[/QUOTE]
That's just the thing...the Toyota family of trucks and SUVs ask a premium price. I sometimes feel they shouldn't skimp on any detail. You can be the most reputable/reliable company AND throw in the goodies too, no?

See I love my 06 because there is no bells and whistles I have my stereo which is decent my tacho which was an upgrade from my 88 and temp which I forget I have most days. I love not have power seats. I wish windows didn't have power. There is no fluff to the truck having 4x4 on push button is incredible more than that I feel is just asking for problems.

Like I said man, Im not worried. The guys who are getting all offended by my A-hole comment are probably the worst offenders. Thats the joy of the internet. If you dont like what someone has to say, just stop reading. Its really that simple. Im seeing that there are some guys here that just want to ridicule and offer negative comments. Its all good. Im sure their mothers didnt hug them enough or something when they were kids.

Im getting adjusted to the new truck. I still miss some features (MPG, outdoor temp gauge, my old leather seats..8*) But Im finding ways around my problems. Im starting to use the weather app for my exterior temperature. Ive ordered a ODB plug in and phone app and am in line for the Ultragauge group buy. As for the seats....meh....Im just going to need to find a REAL good dog hair remover. I put on a set of light duty Nerf bars last night that REALLY improved the looks of the truck (and I was initially sold on the exterior apperance).

And to the guy who told me my stereo is loud enough and I need my ears checked....I have BETTER than average hearing, thank you. 8*P
I just like to cruise the highway with my windows down, blaring the music loud enough so I can feel it in my chest. We dont get much nice weather here in Sorrycuse, so I keep the windows down when I can.

I think I may take it on a small road trip this weekend. Wonder what kind of gas mileage Ill be getting. Oh wait, Ill have to do it manually because I dont have a MPG function. The humanity!

So what is it with you and the heated mirrors man? I have to deal with layers of ice and snow...I just spray mine with defroster and go. What do you need heated mirrors for in Florida? (Not being a dink, Im genuinly asking)

If you're in Syracuse you don't have near the almost daily 80+ % humidity and dew points we have here. My truck isn't garaged so it's rare to not have a dew covered truck in the early morning. Can't see crap-ola out the windows and mirrors. First turn out of my sub division is merging in traffic so if I forget to wipe my mirrors.. it's pucker time :)

oh and I was born in raised in Upstate. Ice and Snow made me leave as an adult!

We spend 4 months sweating to death and watching for hurricanes but yea... dollar for dollar I'm voting South... but I'm biased. When I visit New England it's always in the summer and I miss it.... then I see in their garage boots, a shovel or two and a snow blower.... I'm out on that
