Kinda same on those O2 sensors.....a lot of the times they'll throw a code...

and the sensor is just fine......most/alot of the time, its just the pre-heater circuit in it thats gone out...
and that only effects the first minute....until it warms up to operating temps...

so as long as your not worried about the EPA tracking you down for that one minute.....the sun will still rise in the morning...

I dont trust dealer mechanics....on so many different levels.....scotty had someone bring him a f150 lightning....

at 30K....the dealer rotated the wheels around.....on his way home....the rear drivers side wheel fell off....
it did quite a bit of damage...

He says....maybe ford needs a recall for their mechanics...

So yeah when you leave a dealer service.....you might want to drive around the block couple times......so the walk isnt so far...

95.5 to 97's tacos used points/condenser distributor cap...

98 to 99 used twin coil packs that fire two cylinders at a time...

2000 and on the coil over plugs....

the 2000's + are the easiest to find a bad coil...
you can move those around to different cylinders and see if the cel follows that coil over.....

The most reliable and longest lasting one is the twin coil one 98/99...
most likely they switched to the coil over one to save the corporation money....not the customer....

5vz's 6 cylinders use a hybrid design.....coil over on one side....that shoot a plug cable off each one to a cylinder on the other side....hence fires two cylinders at once too....

Sounds like u have good relationship with dealer. That’s cool.
In my neck of the woods, dealership techs would just toss parts at the issue and when the owner is $1k into repairs and issue not rectified, try to sell the owner a new vehicle.
    Keep us posted!

Haha, dang, that's odd ControlCar. The dealership guys at my the Toyota dealership are straight up and honest with me. That's how I come at them though. I ask them what absolutely needs to be done so I can drive away with my truck functioning optimally and what can wait. Then I just get the necessary maintenance done. I only get done what absolutely needs to be done. The Toyota guys at the dealership I go to are Good though. I can Honestly say they are skilled at what they do and have always taken care of my truck with the utmost care.

I've got a good dealership also. However, I've got a mechanic I've trusted for years and I take my truck to him for things I cannot do myself. "Congrats" on your first CEL Lol

Haha, not really dude. I just sprayed the fuck out of it as that guy showed how to do in the video that was posted in this thread (used a bit more than half a can). Let the MAF Sensor sit for awhile to dry. Put it back in and everything is functioning optimally again. Truck is driving like a fucking Champ once more!
