I got a ride home. Customer service would not answer my questions about rental cars and I didn't want to spend the money and not get reimbursed. Ill deal with the rental tomorrow when I can actually talk to the dealer

    Thanks!

I bought it from a pretty big dealer, between them and toyota corporate I'm sure it will be resolved. I'm sharpening the pitch fork just in case

I just adore all the folks around who 'demand' whatever.

Tough guys. Bullies. The 'lawyer up' team.

Whatever happened to allowing businesses a chance to honor their contractual obligations? Or in some cases taking personal responsibility?

We don't even know the real problem here, if there is a fix needed or Toyota neglect is involved, because there has been no dealer engagement or denial of service at this point.

Yet you are advising to 'demand' a new engine?

The Scottish term for that would be 'eejit'.

So you’d buy a brand new truck that they neglected to put oil in, and just say “well just fill it up. I guess it’s fine” ? Are you thick?

If it’s any consolation this is the same crowd who blows out their electronics when upgrading to new map lights or wiring up their bad ass raptor lights.

Give them some time and they’ll find another thread to turn into a dumpster fire. In the meantime, sending you good vibes…..

If they forgot to fill(engine comes with oil from the factory), the ligh would have came on as soon as he left the dealer.

I don’t think anyone is blaming him but not checking your vehicle before a road trip regardless of how new just seems like a bad idea to me.

I checked not only the oil but the whole truck before I took possession of it. Guess that’s because I don’t trust anyone or I just have common sense:notsure:

Don’t get me wrong. I look to see if there is toilet paper every time I sit down, but I don’t buy a pair of pants and check to see if there is pockets.

Each to his own I guess. Hope they make it right though. I would be pretty bummed to have a problem with a bran new truck. I know it happens but has to shake your confidence in it a bit.

Completely. Especially when they confiscate your truck for a recall they have no time line on.
    Rear diff, fuel pump... etc.
