I'd get a .45 ACP. Or even a .40, because it packs the same punch as a .45 without the kick.

Plus it's a standard NATO round along with .223 ammo available throughout the world. I would love to switch to 9mm just for the savings in ammo cost!

I swear if the criminals in Milwaukee knew how to slow down and shoot we would be the murder capitol of the world. Lots and lots of shootings. . . all very bad shots!

A big bullet to the vitals is better than a small one...

XD's and compact 1911's are great. Ive heard good things about the S&W M&P .40's. For a good conceal holster go thru Custom Carry Concepts and look for the Versaclip. its a very nice In-waist belt holster that fits snug. Rich does a nice custom job on them. High quality, great with price. Oh yeah. . .:D

Speaking of sig 9mm, I have shot quite a few pistols, not going to name them all. Anyway my buddy just got the sig 226 and wanted to let you know that it is by far the most accurate and smoothest pistol I have ever shot before. Granted it is only a 9mm, but a nice pistol it is, and has turned me on to sigs for sure.

Not sure if someone else covered this, but check prices and availability of ammunition for these different weapons. A gun is of no value if you can't afford or find ammo for it.

Most law enforcement agencies switched from the 9mm to the .40 due to the lack of effectiveness. Officers were being killed because the 9mm rounds were not doing the trick. I personally own a 9mm XD subcompact, and though I think it's a solid weapon, I would much rather conceal carry a .40. My .02

Yeah, I went in to Walmart supercenter tonight and they had one box of .45 ACP, .40, .223, and like 3 boxes of 9mm. A buddy of mine has started reloading our .223 ammo cause that shit ain't cheap!

Prices are insane these days. Between my dad and I, we have roughly 20 modern assault/sniping weapons, but it's far too costly to practice unless you're set up to reload the casings. Good luck with the Sigs... they make fine handguns!
