To preface, these are all going to be "pansy" mods for most of you guys, but I'm happy and wanted to share. :)

First, I added the "cleaned and detailed" truck mod yesterday after work. Frankly, I'm not sure this isn't my favorite, since thing is my daily driver and had gotten rather dirty . . . :D

    Second, added door sill protectors.

Then, fiance was kind enough to install not only my new Pioneer DEH-3200 UB HU (thanks Crutchfield), but also my new black step bars, which arrived today from Autoanything. Can't remember the brand. I like the black though - wasn't sure about that.

Now, if I can just get the $$ for that tonneau cover. Have to save up for the Wet Okole group buy though!

ImpulseRed - I think shiny is the way to go with the red truck, if that's your current ride in your sig. Don't regret the chrome - if I had a blue or a red truck I'd have done the chrome. :) Just thought it'd be too much contrast on the dark green.

Man, my wallet already hates me, and right now we're not on speaking terms. ;) I spend so much time in the truck though, nice to add some touches here and there. You people on here aren't helping at ALL though when it comes to trying to fight the urge . . .

    Looks nice.....

How's the sound with the new HU? Did you also do the speakers, or just the HU?

Sound is noticeably better. Everything is much clearer, and the nice thing is it doesn't just get muddy when I turn it up - it remains good quality at loud
volume. I can also hear way more separation of individual voices/instruments than I could before.

For reference, I'm listening to a combination of pop/classic country/folk/americana, but I imagine the difference could be heard in "louder" genres too - metal, rap, etc. It's not going to blow anyone away, but it's definitely worth the $140 that went into it. As it stands now, I don't see me messing with any of the stock speakers unless something happens to them. This was the perfect return on (small) investment, for my purposes.

That was pretty much what I experienced too when putting in my HU. I kept the stock speakers for 2 years, but eventually they blew out..... :D

I use the volume knob for what it is intended and the wimpy stock speakers just aren't up to the task.
