    Hello all,

I'm new here. I've been driving for 17 years and had my first accident a couple months ago. A lady ran into me and totaled my 1997 Toyota 4Runner Ltd. so it was time for a new car. It was a slow crash so thankfully no one was injured. After about a month and a half of research I decided on a Tacoma. I'm super happy with it so far.

It's a lifted 2011 TRD Offroad Access Cab. The guy bought it fully loaded, lifted it and put on bigger wheels and tires. Then he traded it in for a Tundra. I guess it wasn't big enough for him. I got a good deal on it with 1,500 miles.

I've already learned a lot from lurking here and hope I'm able to contribute when I know a bit more.

    Thanks!

Made a profile about a month ago after a couple months of lurking, but didn't notice this thread till now. New member here, planning to buy my first new vehicle this summer and I'm 95% sure it's going to be a Tacoma double cab. It's probably going to be a TRD Off Road in blue, silver, or white.

    Seatbelt Chime!!!
Just got a Double Cab 2008 Tacoma TRD Off Road.

I have already done the disable seat belt chime mod, and soon to put some leds in the 4x4 switch, cupholders, and make the bed light up with the parking/reverse lights. I used to have a jeep grand cherokee in flagstaff and I could never see behind me with dark tinting!

Anyone in AZ know of some good places to play around in the desert, down by Tuscon or Ft. Huachuca? (mainly where border patrol wont catch you, ha)

    Thanks!

    Hello everyone,

My name is Vincent and I dont have a Taco yet but have driven all sorts of yotas from the AE86, supras, mr2T, SC300, IS300, tundras, TACOS, and basically whatever I can get my grubby hands on. I have always been in love with TOYOTA and WILL get a TACO crew-cab fully loaded when I am done with school and have big plans for it.

Since I have my heart set on getting one, I joined the forum so I can learn more about TACO's, read others experiences with their own ride and what people have to say on products available, and so on.

Just bought my first Taco about 3 weeks ago. It's a 2011 SR5 Access Cab 4X4. I love everything about it so far.

I purchased a 2011 Taco on Dec. 23rd and love it. Basic Regular cab, 2.7,5 speed, 2wd. No bells or whistles just a Plain Jane truck. I have added seat covers from http://www.gtcovers.com/ and today added a Hurst T-Handle to the shifter. Reminds me of my 78 Trans Am I had 33 years ago. It is my first non-GM (Government Motors) vehicle I've ever owned. They tell me the engine is virtually indestructible. I sure hope so, went thru 3 engines in my last truck, a GMC Sonoma with a 4.3. All three ended with bad rod knocks. Body made it 289,000 miles but...hope to have this Taco for at least 300,000 without replacing an engine. We shall see.

On 2/4, I got my first new truck after 19 years of driving.

2011 Tacoma, V6, 4x2, Access Cab, PreRunner, SR5 in Silver.

    Loving it so far.

Like the original poster, I never had much inclination to work on cars until now.

New person here introducing myself. My ride is pretty basic. 1996 Tacoma 2wd with a manual trans. It did come with a color matched topper and spiffy wheels.

Nothing wrong with a plane jane truck. I have an '11 AC 2.7 auto named Jane!

I drive 45kmi/yr so mileage is the most important thing to me. I am really enjoying the economy that I get out of my taco.

    What's Crackin Everybody,
My name is Andrew, if that is too formal then you can call me Flying Squirrel. I have a stock 2004 Imperial Jade Green double cab 4x4. Like everybody else here it goes without saying that I love my Tacoma, which is actually my 3rd Toyota truck that I have owned. I admit my own lazyness has prevented me from beginning to "mod" my truck sooner.

I have already spent quite a bit of time researching some of the mods I would like to do, both simple and complex. Unfortunately my knowledge of mechanical type things is rather limited so it is safe to say I will be asking more questions than offering advice.

I decided not to post a picture yet since I am pretty sure everybody knows what a 1st gen double cab looks like, but as it begins to change I will post some.

Look forward to talking with everybody,
    Andrew
