First time truck owner, switching over from a 2009 Ford Focus SE. Have wanted a Tacoma for the last couple years and finally took the plunge. Very excited to be a part of this community.

First thing I gotta do it get rid of the chrome grille..

Man congratulations that's gotta be the biggest jump up in a vehicle I have seen in a while. You might be able to get someone to trade grills with you though that seems to be the one thing a good number of 3rd Gen owner want to change immediately.

Got my new truck a few days ago. Pretty happy with it, especially the price. It's my first new vehicle, truck, and Tacoma. I'll be doing a bunch of mods on it to get everything how I want it. The list is a little long but this is going to be the vehicle that I learn how to work on by myself. Switching from an 05 Mini.

I'm with you on that. Just got mine the other day and the chrome grill will be one of the first things to go.

I know exactly what you mean, for the longest time in my life I always had two cars, simply because one or the other of them was broken down at any one time.

I was so happy when I bought my first Tacoma, a 2004, that I had the window sticker professionally framed, and I would have done so for my 2007 too if the damn dealer had not ripped it all to hell when they took it off. (I know I'm a dork)

These days I do mods on my truck because I feel that it's on my terms. I work on my truck because I want to, not becasue I have to.

Hi, I'm Jeff from Branford CT. A couple weeks ago, I bought a 2016 Tacome TRD Off Road in MGM. I haven't had a new vehicle in a long time, the last brand new vehicle I bought was a 1985 Toyota SR5 pickup extended cab. If this one serves me as well as the 85 Yota, I'll be an extremely happy boy.

So far, all I have done to it is add N-Fab tube steps and weather tech mats. A folding tonneau is next, but I still have no idea which one I'll get.

I didn't want to change my grille until I saw others here doing it, and they look SOOOOOO much better.

After waiting two long months my TRD Off Road finally came! It did great in Anza Borrego this weekend, even did some light off roading in ocatillo wells to break her in. Didn't use the crawl control or MTS yet. But did need the 4wd and the rear lockers for soft sand/steeps.

Am seriously considering plasti dipping all the chrome, or else replacing the grill and debadging. Going to up the tint on the front windows soon...
Also looking into shells, and am leaning towards a leer with roof racks.
Oh and weathertech mats are on their way already!

I couldn't afford the 4x4 but I still plan on taking it into the woods and getting stuck.
I guess I'm gonna need a winch...

Just get some good tires and drive at a speed appropriate for terrain conditions. Know your trucks limits. Should be fine.
