OK, it looks like the embed is working. Will post a couple more pics and explain the status of this truck and don't mind the reflection of the fence slats in the paint job. ;)

Friend sold me this '99 taco about six/eight months ago and I've been working on it whenever I get off from work. So far, I've been cleaning/detailing the engine bay a little bit at a time, swapped out the front windshield for a new one (cracked), did a repair on a broken ignition switch and installed new bushings on the shifter and shifter linkage, a did a complete u-joint replacement (damn that f'n double cardan joint was a bitch!!) and tranny mount (easiest job so far) did a complete front to back component brake restoration and now I'm into a complete suspension and steering replacement with all new parts.

I helped him with the backyard paint job that came out looking pretty good where we tried to match the cement paint code on the newer taco's.

Also, after these pics were taken the truck is up on stands and I've managed to replace those worn out tires with a nice set of Goodrich K02's and am presently looking around for a set of wheels that matches the paint job

    She's a machine and her names cricket. Cricket and I have gone everywhere everyone said I wouldn't make it with a 4 cylinder 2 wheel drive.20191211_105031.jpg 20191211_124410.jpg 20191211_102017.jpg 20191211_095706.jpg

    Very nice. Congrats.

What are your plans for modding/customizing it to your particular tastes?

Honestly, think I am done. Added running boards, tonneau cover, mud guards and think that's all I need. Respect the off roaders and think their Taco's are pretty sweet looking especially with the lifts. I'm really a city driver that has always wanted a Taco.Taco 2.jpg

    4x4 just starting to mod!
New here! Just picked up a 08 Tacoma 4x4 with 32k miles on it! Second owner of it, the old man before me bought it new off the lot. Overall great condition not a scratch on it. Can’t wait to start modding it up

Just picked up my first truck ever a few days ago - 2020 TRD Sport 4x4 in Midnight Black Metallic. I'd eventually like to get Predator Steps, TRD Pro grille, blackout emblems, and full LED lights. If anyone has advice about getting/pricing/installing these mods it would be much appreciated!

Just joining up. This is my old gal. Its an 07 with a extra leaf and Bilsteins all around. Added a 3000 watt power convertor so i can use it as a generator when the power goes out or when doing a little overland . I live close to Uwharrie National Forest , if you get a chance , its i nice place to ride. Hope to make more mods now that im retired.

    2018 Tacoma TRD Off Road
New member here from the Bay Area, just picked up my 2018 TRD Taco Off Road literally 2 weeks ago and initially thought I was going to use it for hauling stuff around..... checked out this forum and saw so many nicely modded trucks that I had to follow suit. This is an expensive hobby for sure. Hope to get some recommendations on some trails out here.

    Mods done to date:
    1. Bilstein 5100’s all around (0 setting) W/ OME 887 Springs which brought height up 2 inches.
    2. S&B CAI for sound
    3. OVTuning should be done by next week
    4. Icon Rebound with KO2’s
    5. TRD pro grill

New to the forum, but not new to Toyota. I bought my 2020 TRD Off Road in April; first ever NEW vehicle and I'm quite pleased! I've owned two Toyotas in the past; an '85 4x4 Xtra-cab with the 22R engine (a carbureted 4 cyl which was largely under powered) and a '97 SR5 4Runner. I'm considering the Rough Country 4 inch lift and looking for rock sliders, currently. Lately, I've been exploring the back-country of Colorado and plan to see a few more ghost towns before the winter.
