Toyota trucks have been in family since my mom had a Toyota pickup that I learned to drive stick shift on. I finally joined the club with my 2020 TRD Off-Road. Couldn't be more pleased. I have far too many hobbies and this truck just became another. Perfect for loading bikes, fishing rods, towing my Jon boat, or home renovation building supplies.
    Upgrades:
    - I have a TRD Pro Grill on order now and have found an amazing thread on this forum that helped me discover the group as well as motivated me to join.
    - Wheels are in the future but I have free tread on these so might as well not waste them.
    - Bed extender: I love the sporty look of the short bed but space is an issue. I am looking at bed extenders for instances where I want a bit more secure cargo.

Congratulations on your 1st new truck. You made a good choice. I have been fortunate to own several new Tacoma pickups and been driving them starting in the 90's .best trucks I've ever owned.

Nice. The 1 I saw at the dealership it had the air intake coming up high along the side. Did you take it off

Negative. I didn’t want the desert air intake. Can’t take them off without getting a new fender... under that thing is a big ol’ hole in the fender.

Hey there!! I just got my truck also, pretty much look just like yours minus the wheels and tires. Did you have to do a Leveling kit to get the 17x7 TRD Pro Wheels and 265 70 R17?? I noticed you removed your mud flaps, do you think the truck will be capable of stock Tacoma Off Roading with the new setup?

My first brandy new vehicle was an '86 FWD. I was new in the NAVY and the bikes were OK to get around, but I had orders to California. I walked onto the
Toyota lot to look at base trucks and there she was... Up on a steep ramp at the front of the lot... a FWD that was absolutely LOADED. I swear, it actually
spoke to me and had a visible aura! LOL! After the salesman and I composed an award winning fairy tail for the financing application, I drove it home.
That 22RE motor was amazing. I towed the wife's CRX to San Diego with the cruise and A/C running the whole way.
I bet I might still have that truck, but about a year later it was stolen, stripped, and what was left (not much) was recovered in Ramona.

    Morning all-

Returning member here. Had a 2011 Toyota Tacoma extended cab trd sport and after racking of 201000 miles on her I traded in for a 2020 trd sport short bed four door (more room for the kids) and this time a six speed. Super happy with the truck and as always with how nice and helpful this group is with advice. I already got an ARE cap for camping trips and storing goods. Now I am on to wheels. Going to purchase ray10s and thinking about doing a 265 70 17 set up on stock suspension. Sounds like most people agree that will fit with only minor full turn and flex options. I do town a bit here and there and worry about added wear on bearings etc with the offset and larger tires. Any feedback would be welcome :) thanks again for the add

Sorry for the delayed response! No leveling kit required. The wheels and tires fit no problem. I just got back from an 8k mile trip with plenty of offroad moments and I can assure you it is quite capable as is. I didn't go too crazy, but this truck definitely saw plenty of "roads" that came with the "high clearance 4x4 vehicle required" warning signs.

New guy currently w/o a Taco!

However yesterday I put my name on a 2020 TRD Off-Road, still in production, and I'm super excited for it to roll off and into my driveway. I've owned a lot of vehicles over the years but never a Toyota. I'll be lurking around for awhile and I look forward to learning from all of the seasoned members/owners out there.

    Happy to be here
