Check tiger's cheep mods thread, and just flip the spare.

Valve stem on mine is now on the bottom facing the back, kneel down poke my head under, with the air chuck and I'm done. Take the extender deal back.

Yeah, I'm familiar with that. I started a thread about this that fed into the cheap mods thread.

It was $10, probably not worth it to ship back. I guess this is one of those things that bugs me more than most. I've got bum knees. I'll spend some more time on Roland's suggestion of looking for somewhere else to mount it.

If you want me to hold your beer, don't expect it to be there when you come back.

"Unapologetic Texan" That is greatness. Spoken like a true Texan. I do miss the Mother Land.

Howdy from Northern California. I figured I should join this giant thread.

    getting there....
you could put a small hole in your bumper.....or you could find a small bracket to mount right under the bumper near or on the frame and mount the spare extension that way. shouldnt be too hard to do.

I've thought about this a bit. If it's long enough I'd either lead it into one of the side pockets in the bed or into a wheel well since you'll be there to inflate the other tires anyway.

Welcome aboard to the longest new member thread in the history of the intarwebs! Texans bring greatness with them no matter where they go. If you get bored sometime, read the first few pages of the thread. I think it's around page 3 when I had to pull up the Gonzales battle flag as my avatar due to the weak threats of the evil ndcouch (watch out for him).

So sorry to hear about your exile. "Texan in Exile" wouldn't be a bad title for ya.

PS (to everyone else): I just noticed how odd it is that my new member thread has grown to such enormous proportion, than I'M welcoming new people to it. Where will this end?

Did I? Crap, I thought I typed 'deer'. Dyslexia kicking in again....

If I typed 'beer' then those alliance boys will be all over this thread! What will that do to the length of this thread?

I appreciate you spending the brain cells on this. I take back all the jokes I ever made about Texas having ranches bigger than RI (even though it's true).

I thought about the wheel well briefly. It's long enough. I should revisit that idea. Thanks.

Next question. I assume this screws onto the valve stem right? Then if you screw the other end to the bumper, or wheel well or something. Is there still going to be enough slack to lower the spare when you need it? Without having to crawl under the truck and be a double jointed midget to get it unscrewed so you can drop the tire?

Not trying to piss in your Cherios or anything, but I figure that maybe the flip the spare and lean under the truck to check the air might look better than having to crawl under the truck more than you need to if you get a flat since if you need the spare you are already having a shitty day, so do you really need more work. If the hose will be long enough to mount and still raise and lower the tire, then please disregard my latest thoughts.

This from the guy who blasted ND and myself with negative rep for telling him how creepy clowns were and respectfully request that he change his avatar.

    Sorry I think not.
