Just bought my first Tacoma a few weeks ago!

    2.7 Liter w/ 5 speed and 158K Miles.

I'm new to the 4x4 world so will really be needing this site as a resource. Hoping to get a 2" OME lift, tires and steelies on soon. Planning to keep it semi-stock looking. Can't wait to get this thing on some trails!

The simplicity of maintenance is achievable to the average Tacoma owner. Welcome to ownership of one of the most durable vehicles around. This still means that you must perform regular maintenance to your truck. Some of these type of trucks are now older than the their respective owners behind the wheel. For beginners get the owners manual out and read it. Start buying tools to repair your truck. Keep the fluids changed and the tires filled with air. Check the wheel bearings, the brakes, air filter, brake lights and marker bulbs, oil filters, driveshaft U-joints, ect. It never stops for you and if you keep that in mind the truck can literally outlast you even if your worst case is rebuilding or changing out an engine or transmission. You very possibly have a truck for the rest of your driving life.
