I would have to research your post, but seeing how you're new here, please review our code of conduct and the link I posted for 3rd gens.

Never having changed a flat tire is the exact reason you don't have a cute girl next to you in your truck lol... I kid, I kid. How the heck have you never caught a flat?? I changed out three flats last week alone- one was for a female States Atty, 2nd was a female forensic tech, 3rd was one of my work vehicles. Wish you lived closer, I'd give you a call and you'd get your fill in a week.

Gotta agree with this. That post shows what WILL happen if you "break the rules" but doesn't state what constitutes breaking the rules.

I love this place. I've never been a part of such a amazing community of people.

All BS aside OP, it sucks that this happened to you, but it's not Toyota's fault in this case. The fault lies with the tow truck company. Don't let this bad experience make you hate Toyotas and get something else, because you're gonna find that it will be like this no matter what you drive.

It really is something you should do at least once in a controlled environment. Like a garage or driveway on a nice day. At the very least get the supplied tools out, jack it up. Lower the spare tire so you know how to do that. It's better to know then trying to figure out when you really need it.

I took auto mechanics in high school 2 years in a row. The very first day, the first thing you had to do was change a tire. He would always say it's better to learn and practice here, then on the side of the road in the rain or cold . He'd always say, it never happens in a place it's easy to change. Great advice and nice to have an idea of what to do when the time comes.

    Word.

On the topic.. what would it be worth to someone to have roadside assistance available and every instance was guaranteed to be responded to within half an hour?

Probably worth less to someone than it would cost to make a feasible option, several times over.

Priority for a tire repair is low, unless you're in a dangerous area and/or have young children in the car/pregnant etc.

Those who are stranded on the roadway and not on the shoulder, those with young kids in the car, and those who are pregnant should certainly be served first, I can wait. My inconvenience is certainly less than some others inconveniences.

The elderly, the families and the ones in danger can be helped first.

Did I get banned? I just got here! Anyhoo, just want to post up in the 3rd gen forums.
I'll do my best sir. Never found it productive to be a "dick" on any forum. Was just trying to figure out why my post got deleted. Thanks.

Dave makes a good point also.

I wouldn't suggest anyone learn the ropes of a tire change in any area less than absolutely ideal or as close as you can get it.

I've changed a billion, and still paid a near fatal price during a tire change in bad conditions using the factory supplied equipment.

Now I know better, and when a tire blows out and the situation makes me less than comfortable changing it out with that same equipment I'll choose to let someone else do it with a heavy duty floor jack 100% of the time, it isn't worth the risk with less than ideal equipment.

For those of you on here that don't know what we're talking about. About three weeks ago I was having a conversation on a thread with the guy about the LED light problems shutting down the trucks. And this guy came out of nowhere, out of the blue, and started calling me out on what I have done to my truck. For those of you that have seen me on here quite a bit, you know that I have done a lot to my truck. So it pissed me off about him butting in and I called him a #ip #hit and told him to go do his homework on what I had done to my truck instead of attacking me for no reason . As I have stated before I had never been banned on here and have contributed quite a bit of positive input imo. Next thing I know I'm being a can't do anything for a week. Imo, it seemed like FORERUNNER was awfully quick to pull the trigger to banning people without getting involved and seeing what the conversation was in the first place. Like I already stated, do I want to be banned from here again, no. But I will say my piece.

You shouldn't have to buy AAA when your buying a $35k truck with roadside assistance.
