3 in lift with 17x9 nomad rims on 285/70/17 bfg all terrain
So yea I'm new. I've been a jeep guy forever and I needed a truck so I did what I THOUGHT was a good idea and bought a z71. Well the 4x4 actuator went out and engaged 4x4 at 80 mph. Bad day for everyone. So I was in the market for another truck. Loved the Tacoma look but they are pricey. Really started thinking about a Tacoma when my buddy bought a 2012. Nice. Looked forever for the ONE. Finally found one that fit my requirements. Found an 09 crew cab TRD off road with 80k on the odometer. One owner local trade in. A 55 year old woman bought it new, serviced it at the dealership then traded it in at the same dealership. I got this truck at wholesale price cause it's an older truck. Got it for $16,500. So I took it on the first day and got the toolbox and window tint. Thought I would be content for a while but nope. Bought a 3 in spacer and block lift for $100 off eBay. Sure I read all the threads about how TERRIBLE my lift is but I'm not rich. I work at a Florida prison. I am saving for the big boy lift but that's a couple thousand bucks. So I bought the $100 lift and she looked great. Needed tires and rims. Found a set of rims on the all mighty Craigslist. Traded a fishing pole for them lol. 17x9 ultra Motorsports nomad. They needed a cleaning. Now I needed tires. Good thing my brother owns a tire store lol. And a custom auto body shop and a custom metal fan shop lol. He's got a lot going on. But he got me some new 285/70/17 bfg all terrain ko2 for $561 mounted and balanced out the door. Had a little rubbing but we trimmed the inner fender and all is well. No rubbing while flexed at full lock so we are golden. So the truck looks just like I wanted it to. I've had this thing now for two weeks and it looks totally different than day one. I haven't even had to make the first payment yet lol. So here I am folks. New Tacoma owner. New to the forum. Thanks for having me.
