Very sorry to hear about your friend. What makes it extra tragic is that it was caused by stupid horseplay. The guy who threw the firecracker is going to have to live with this the rest of his life. Prayers being sent up for your friend.

I'll keep you, him and his family in my prayers.

Head injuries can be very hard to tell the true severity of the injury until time has passed. 12 years ago a very close family member of mine had a severe head injury during a horrible accident. She ended up being in the ICU for 3 months and it was over a year before she was able to leave the hospital. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone to live through what she has, and I am sure she would say the same if she could.

There is a point at which quality of life is non-existent and she definitely passed over that mark. At the time no one would have though of taking her off life support, although in hindsight, not one of us would ever do what we did again.

God bless your friend, and I hope whatever path is laid out for him, is the path that is best.

got the new saturday night that Dennis passed away. Its horrible to lose him but in the end I think it is better than him living with the quality of life he would have with 20% of his brain removed. I have accepted that but I am still supporting our shared best friend and Dennis's family who are still mourning greatly. I will Post a pic when I get off work
