CV, CV, CV, CV, CV, CV...everyone together now, CV, CV, CV.:D

Seriously, they still aren't replacing the CV? If they replaced the needle bearing and the vibe still goes away in 4wd, all that's left is the CV! Maybe you need to point them to the two threads we have going on here to "help them out?"

If the dealer cant fix my truck, this time around, what should I do.... Just tell them to not touch the truck anymore?
Or ask them what they can do for me, in regards of getting me a new truck?
Or just have them keep pocking around, and trying to fix it?

Im just soo sick of this crap! its been soo long and its still not fixed! :(
Im really missing my 1st gen. right now! :)

For an '07, not a lot of options. If you're willing to take a risk (I guess it would depend on the cost and if I had the money), you could just talk to the service manager and see if he'll agree to replace the CV axle at your cost if it doesn't fix it, but under warranty if it does fix it. They probably would go for that. But we're still betting/guessing that the CV axle is the remaining cause. What if it isn't? Then you'd be stuck with the bill.

That is an option to have the CV replaced if you want to pay for them.
It stinks because they have to through their procedure it seems and nothing will change it.

You could go to another dealership but thats gamble.
Yes you could sell it but but thats going cost.
If you hang in there and have the patience it will get fixed.

    Keep us posted.

    By the way.

I had alot of (free play) were the half shaft connects to each side of the front diff. Both sides but the drivers side was worse.
The play was up and down NOT in and out when I checked it. The mechanic finally notice it and thats what caused him to replace the front diff.

Now there is NO PLAY WHAT SO EVER.

Hope thats helps other people diagnose this problem.

Hey Evan, how's the dealership's latest attempt coming along? You last said it should be done Tues/Wed. It's now Wed.

Thinking of adding a second battery...

Lucky you. Now that I have no madafada warranty, I am starting to investigate how to do this myself. I am fine at the moment with only 34.5k on mine and no oil leaks...knocking on wood....

I have play but I want to prepare now and do my homework and if I have to, I will dig in...

Well, they havent called yet, If they dont call me by tomorrow around noon, I will call and find out whats up....
I know for a fact that they havent fixed it, bc the bearing they replaced this time, has nothing to do with noise/vibe....
So I orready know theyre ganna say its still there...... which pisses me off!
They cant just listen to me, and replace the CV, they gotta do what corprate wants!

If they cant fix it this next time around. Im for sure just ganna give up with it, and go for a RCD 4" lift. :D

Man all this has me scared to put my billy's on now. I was only going to do .85 but even that seems like a risk, no?

Nah... Some have this problem and some dont..
You just gotta lift it and find out. I had mine set at about 2" lift and I didnt have a problem.

Actually, .85 is still a risk. I first set mine to 1.75 and it was a horrible, very loud, grinding sound. I then put them back to .85 (which is where they're still set even after the new diff) and it was still loud, but not as bad. It is a risk, but there's such a small percentage of us having problems. The risk is actually kind of low. But I go back to what I have said before. If you don't put them on and you've got the bad bearing, do you want to wait until you pass 100K miles before you notice it? Or do you want to find out now? Putting the billies on will tell you whether you're one of the "lucky ones" sooner rather than later.

    They freaken fixed it!!!!! :D

I will be picking it up later today, and will lower the coilovers to about 2" lift and also get rid of the AAL...

Then later on get the RCD lift, and sell what I got now....
