it really depends on your/her definition of "truck" I see anything with a truck bed as being a truck, so even those vw caddy's from the 80's count as trucks to me, a pick up is still a truck just a smaller one by comparison to a f250 but on that note an f250 is a small truck compared to a freightliner semi which is a small truck compared to one of those big yellow rock hauling things they use in quarries...

point being she is wrong you are right but she has money so...

After coming back and reading these, it just makes me laugh.
Sorry, I have been busy working my three jobs. So if your questioning my masculinity or weather I work hard or not, go right ahead.
I'm sorry I don't have all the time in the world to constantly stay on Tacoma World.

Dang man, that is just the way she was raised I guess. Over the weekend my girlfriend and I did quite a bit of driving and she was pointing out Tacomas the whole time making me proud haha :D

She sounds like a relationship controler. If she cannot respect your truck and your budget for a vehicle/purpose. Find a new girl. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Like JWC if she is a 10 and rich. this changes things.

however based on redneck family, and 2008 250. I would imagine she is a strong 6 with a contractor dad.

I mean no offense. Just no that there are more girls in this world.

That gal rowed across the Atlantic. I met her once and felt like less of a man.

I'm afraid of the dark so I prefer the doublebagger method. Gotta have one on over your head in case the one over her's breaks.

I have to admit that this thread has stamina.

    My two cents:

    1. It bothered you enough to post it here, so you gave it more than a second thought, so the statement is now an issue.

    2. I've been around a while, survived putting four children through school, on wife number 2, did not count the girlfriends, been through a few vehicles, sooo: My first pickup lasted far longer than the first wife, my second wife has lasted far longer than any job I've ever had, and the second wife tells me to go off-roading whenever I get a chance. A woman should never come between you and your truck, especially if you use it for more than just transportation.

    3. There are over 6 billion people on the planet, if you can't find another shag partner, just quit breathing.

    4 Two words: EXIT STRATEGY

    The Dust Bowl
    The etymology of "truck":
A cart for carrying heavy loads" (1774)
    A motor truck (1901)
A motor vehicle for carrying heavy loads (1913)

Today, the Tacoma's 1300 pound payload is rather wimpy. However, in 1774 and probably even in 1913, this would have been a quite respectable load. Though Tacomas may not be trucks in reference to today's heavy loads they could be construed so in terms of yesterday's heavy loads.

    As for the girlfriend:

If she is actually so superficial as to believe that having a smaller truck makes you less of a man then she has problems. If you are taking offense because you define yourself by the vehicle you drive and feel emasculated when a girl denigrates it then you have problems. If she's just teasing you then she is acting like a normal girlfriend.

I haven't even read the situation but because of the title i'd say you need a new girlfriend!

But in all seriousness, one thing i love about my Tacoma is going places that a full size (King Ranch) truck isn't going to go. And by this i'm talking mostly about tight trails.
I went wheeling with a buddy of mine awhile back that had a 1500 Chevy that was lifted and the truck couldn't keep up with the Tacoma off road.
I'm not saying that the truck was gonna break down or anything, but i found myself always waiting on him to squeeze through places, hard to get over some spots, etc etc.
Sure, you can lift any full size truck and ram though a mud hole, but a better all around off road truck thats going to last, i haven't seen anything quite better. Just my .02.
