    ahh yes.... the infamous ALTE ("apparent life threatening event"). They suck to figure out (for pretty much everyone involved). Don't be suprised if they say something along the "we think it's because..." and don't have a real firm answer. Kids are quirky.

    Prayers sent. My wife is a Pediatric Trauma nurse. Believe me, it's hard on everybody involved, even the nurses. There are many nights that my wife comes home crying because of a patient she had. I hope everything turns out ok, and pray that God places a hedge of protection around your family and theirs, as well as the doctors and nurses working on her.

    She slept some through the night, and was sleeping when my friend went up to see her this morning. They've done an EKG just in case, though the suspect it's not heart-related. They haven't been told the results yet, though, and when he called me they still hadn't seen a Dr on rounds yet.

    They do know that she'll stay at the hospital for at least 48hrs for observation.

    Good to hear she's doing well. Hopefully no repeat incidents. I know being a parent I constantly worry about my kid but if something like that happened I don't think I'd be able to sleep again. I'd be constantly watching.

    Her parents are home now getting a few hours of much needed sleep. Her grandmother and aunt are at the hospital with her. She's doing well... probably better than the parents at this point.

    Nothing has really changed as far as I know. Her parents stayed with her in the hospital, but I haven't heard anything about a diagnosis. I get the impression that she doesn't appear to be in any risk right now, but I don't know that. Her dad's most recent text to me included "All is stable." I really wish I KNEW something.... I'm sure they wish that more than me.

    Keep her in your prayers. Soon, we'll need to think about them and bringing her home. How they will ever sleep again, I don't know.
