My grill was moving with my new plate bumper...

I recently bought a front plate bumper from SOS. It's awesome; however, my grill was not quite secure after the install. The plastic clips on the top of the factory bumper were no longer there to hold the bottom of the grill secure.I decided to cut off the top portion of my factory bumper cover and use it to fill the gap at the top of the bumper and hold the grill in place.I had to loosen the plate bumper to fit the plastic under it. Once I bolted the bumper back down it held the plastic in place very nicely.
The finished project filled the small gap and held my grill in place as well as with the factory bumper.

How much cut from the lip down.. 3inches?

 

I went about 5 inches but the would've done it. It's been about 8 months and it's held up quite well. Initially i intended for this to be a temp fix but it might be permanent.

 

I like the idea vs the ziptie method everyone is doing.. but I really don't want to cut up my stock bumper so I'm looking into a donor

 

What part of the grill does it zip tie to? My grill is all mesh not a standard grill anymore.. reason I'm looking into this alternative
