I've pondered this before and here's my take on the visibility of this thread.
The OP was written almost six years ago, and currently has 14,431 Views.
An average of 6 or 7 views a day, and 10% of those, are a few of us bumping it.
TW Home Page currently shows 106,843 members.
By my Figurin' 'n Cipherin', in excess of 90,000 Members haven't seen it. Ergo, haven't read it.
When I bumped it earlier today, it was on the Home Page for less than 5 minutes.
So, unless we take shifts bumping it every 5 minutes, it's like drivin' coast to coast in 1st gear.
Therefore, I suggest that @tcBob relocate it to, at a minimum, the New Members Forum, as a Sticky.
Or, better yet, the TW Home Page, in a location of prominence, or as a Sticky, or at the top of the "Forums List".
It could be labeled:
"Recommended Reading" or "Required Reading" or "MANDATORY READING"!!!
Oops, got carried away, sorry.
Anyway, that's the only way that this thread will get the exposure it's due.
To me, this is one of the more relevant Posts on TW, and it would be a shame to keep it buried in the Forum it actually belongs in.

Maybe self police isn't the correct way to put it... I meant whoever has been just bumping this thread (and as many more as will help) could instead put a link directly to the OP in an off base post.

 

I understood, and agree.
I'm gonna try to squeeze it into my Sig somewhere.
But unfortunately, a link will generate minimal exposure.
This is something everyone should read.
Well, maybe not a new member's 1st read, as tcBob pointed out.
But the stats I posted in Post #186 above, are dismal at best.
The bumps generate 99% of the exposure.

EDIT: tho we have generated some exposure today
