trd seat covers, bed mat, tinted windows, debadged, mud flaps removed, tinted tails, blacked out center console, Black Rims, 6000k HID in highs and fogs, blacked out front emblem, Pioneer AVH-4300DVD, Gauge Cluster, lower valence, retrofitted, audio system, Maxtrac Spindles, Billies
But seeing as he has a black truck would of went well. Just my thought. He did a good job tho. Will be following this thread when I decide to do mine in January.

Are those the old Mini D2S? With the 2.5" lens? Im doing a set with the new 3" lens and I will be comparing them to my Mini H1's

Also, did you seal that groove in the housing where the turn signal bulb is? The OEM headlights are sealed there and I am using a set of cheap replacements for this retro and noticed it wasn't sealed there either so I added some butyl sealant there as well

I think it would of been just too much black for my liking.

I'm not sure if these are the "new" DS2 or not. I just ordered them from TRS? So I'm not sure

I'm going to pull the headlights today, plug a few holes with butyl and then run a small bead of silicone around the lens today

When you put the shrouds on did you use the shroud centric rings?

My thoughts as well. But what do I know as I am an old fart.

I am hoping that the light from the CCFL that excapes out of the Gatling shroud will reflect off of the reflector and look a little different. ;)

I agree you did a nice job on the retrofit.

Cummins do you mean the black piece that snaps into the shroud itself that holds the projector tight? Yes I did

Yeah, if you were able to use that you have the 2.5" lens. The shroud centric lenses don't fit on the 3" lens

Looks great, I did the same retrofit a couple months ago and am happy with my results. In your output pictures, are both headlights on? Normally you can see the step between the 2 projectors. Either you aimed them on top of each other or you got your horizontal rotation perfect. Here is a picture of the output from my retrofit. I think my driver side rotation is just a bit off
    [IMG]

I think I even have the older miniD2s as there are no morimoto logo anywhere. My projectors were packaged in a plain white box.

I read up on the forums and yes, the miniH1 looks to be wider but I decided to stick with the miniD2s since I wanted to use OEM bulbs. The miniH1 uses a D2s bulb that is rebased to fit the H1 socket. There is no real guarantee how long those will be around. I like to know that if I really need a bulb, I can go pick one up at a local dealer if needed.

Have the projectors already came loose? I don't see how, I tightened the first nut with a small hammer and screwdriver!!! I couldn't put a rubber washer under the first nut cause they only gave me one plus I tried using the one they sent and I couldn't get it tight enough with it on there to get the bulb, metal ring, the other rubber piece, and the other nut on. So with out the first rubber washer I had enough threads to tighten the bulb in with. Do I really have to pull these damn things apart again?

As far as aiming them. The distance between the steps on each cut off should be the same distance as between each projector when you are 25' from the wall.

You can try taking the bulbs out and loosening the first nut and see if you can rotate the projector before taking them apart.

    Why am I not surprised

How do you keep yours from doing this? I literally used a flat head and hammer to tighten that first nut. I can't get any pliers or anything on it so kinda out of options

Noted cummins. I will do that with the steps and I'll try to straighten the projectors tomorrow I guess. I'm gonna try to take the bulb out and first nut first.

I found that you may think they are tight but you may need to keep torquing on the nut because the adapter plate hasn't seated all the way yet.

Its weird that they would rotate on you though, doing my girlfriends I don't see how they could rotate if the nut had loosened up unless the adapter plate had come out of the groove.

Also check and see if the lock nut cracked and broke, its a common issue with the cast nuts

Yea I'll look. I don't see how that adpater plate/lock washer type deal could have came loose. I doubt that either of the nuts are broke or cracked, but I'll be pulling them off tomorrow and see what I can do. Gonna try my best to not pull them apart. But I'm thinking the will have to come apart, cause that's my luck

If you do pull them back apart then push the projector on while tightening the lock ring so you aren't using the lock ring to actually "pull" the projector into the headlight. Or take the bulb out and stick your finger in the bulb hole to pull the projector and tighten the lock ring.

Yea that's what I'm going to try and do first. If I cant use my finger inside the hole and twist it just a few degrees I'll have to pull them apart :(

But surely I can turn it a few degrees? I may add a few spots of epoxy somewhere to try and help hold them better
