    I just finished my install tonight. I just used carriage bolts instead of the bicycle mount and I doubled up on the L brackets to increase the strength. Seems pretty solid. I will post pics later...

    Looks like some pretty clean work, well done. I did something similar. Here is the DIY I wrote for mine. Might help those looking to keep the bottom of the bracket from moving.

    anyone have a hi-lift mounted outside most of the time. how does it hold up to the weather? is that boot worth getting?? i am looking to mount mine to a basket most of the time.
