    Canada Eh!
    Hello everyone!

So ive been on a pretty big "preventative maintenance" kick recently. I sent my truck back to Toyota 3 times because of the sh*t job they did spraying the frame. The finally did a decent job the last time.

Living in northern Ontario is hell on vehicles for rust and corrosion. I first noticed problems starting when I pulled my carpet up on the driver side last winter and it was soaked. I decided to start fighting the rust. I pulled all the carpet up and let it dry out and inspected all the floor pans. I found a few spots that needed attention but nothing to serious. I wire wheeled the spots and painted them with an over-the-counter rust paint.

I recently pull the carpet up again to check and noticed it was rusting thru. I started researching rust paints and heard everyone mentioning POR 15. Did some more research and was sold.

For the past few days Ive had my interior out. Ive spent hours wire wheeling and prepping everything as per POR 15's instructions. I am really excited to see the finished product! So far it looks great!

My cost so far: $106 (1qt Por 15, 1qt Metal Ready, 2 throw away brushes)

Here are some pics of the process.

Cleaning off the residue from the sound/heat guard was a little bit of a PITA

My plan now to get new carpet...or vinyl. I still havent decided:confused:

Also, do you think the original tan colour or black vinyl would look best?

If i go with carpet it will be tan. I also plan on husky liners with either carpet or vinyl.

I am going to try and replace the seats. The previous owner put in some 4runner bucket seats. Good idea....but only 3 bolts are holding each seat down. He broke off a few bolts when pulling the old seats out then just said F*** it.

Anywho, I will try and keep this updated with fresh pics.

    Cheers!

It's an 89 Toyota Pickup. I got some stuff done to it.. FJ axles going under it soon.
Might as well bed liner your inside with fine grain now..you do have a 4wd.
    If you like that style..

and if the bedliner will stick to the POR 15 correctly.:)
