    Still looking
I've been lurking around your site for the past couple days, trying to decide what model Toyota I want to buy and what particular pros and cons certain models have. I'm still on the fence as far as models, but seeing how my budget is $3000 I dont have a lot of options. Its got to be 4x4 and manual... this is the farthest I've gotten to my decision.

From a budget stand point, I'm looking at late 80's to early 90s Toyota unless I get very lucky.

The problem exist in whether a 4Runner or a Tacoma w/ extended cab will fit my needs better. Mostly use it to drive to work, a little off roading, occuasional hunting and to the beach from time to time.

I like the idea of having interior/passenger room with the 4Runner, but the idea of putting a smelly, bloody hog in the cabin area just doesnt seem to be a good idea. The way around this, from a little thinking is to weld myself some sort of carrier that incorporates the hitch. Also from what I've seen, a lot of them come with the doggish 3.0L and are distened to have headgasket issues.

The Tacoma has some pros: exterior cargo area, easily found 22r4 and for alittle more added "interior" space I can buy a locking tool box for the bed.

From re-reading my post it sounds like I'm leaning towards the Tacoma, but I would like to hear other members thoughts and concerns :)
