Well, my luck stayed the same in 2016:

Under 4000 miles and a cracked windshield. I can tell you that there is no aftermarket option available yet. 700$ out the window. Literally. Bummer.:annoyed:

Sucks, but at least it's just a windshield.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Why repair it right away? I would leave it until the cheaper aftermarket replacements are available. I have free window replacement with my auto insurance, have no idea what your insurance in Canada is like.

    I wouldn't mind with my $100 deductible.

Deductible is 500$. Not worth increasing a premium for 200$.

Well, in theory I could get a ticket if I get arrested for something else because it compromises the integrity of the vehicule o_O. And my wife wants to change it right away or else ...

Now I feel much better! I got a quote of 850$ but managed to bargain a bit. After all you just spent a fortune at the dealership just a few months ago. Just go tell that to the service manager. Worked for me!
    How did it happen anyway?

Freakin rock but it was only a chip. I have just over 2200 miles too. I tried to get it repaired but when the tech put the vacuum on it, it split and has been growing everyday. A word of caution: if you have a rock chip in or close to the black edge, LEAVE IT ALONE!! I'm gonna put it off as long as I can.

This happens to me at least twice a year no matter what vehicle I drive, it's incredibly common in Colorado. I throw it on insurance every time with no noticeable rate increase. No deductible either...

One can never have too many light bars.
I thought it was only if the crack is in front of the drivers line of sight? Either way it would take a real asshole of a cop to write a ticket for that. I say hold out.

Here in alaska every one has a cracked windshield. No point in replacing a windshield that's gonna break once a winter

Don't feel bad, when I first bought my truck, the next morning I was washing it and noticed a huge chip in the windshield, dealership wouldn't replace because they said it could have happened after I bought truck but they did repair the chip. Still sucks ass
