The Goochwarmer name came from an old military buddy who I was stationed with, when he was in Korea (that should tell you where this is going) he said that if the girl he pays for does it right her nose is a goochwarmer....in regards to ordering his teabag.

I am glad that your local dealership stepped up and addressed and resolved the issues with your truck. I have an auto, I couldn't find a manual off road anywhere in Socal, when I was looking. Knock on wood, everything is fine and hopefully continues to do so.

Does Toyota base the issuance of a Technical Service Bulletin by a percentage of units reporting problems?

    I honestly have no idea

I don't know, there is a gentlemen here (Bradnikki ?) that knows more about this. It does remind me of the line in Fight Club..
"Narrator: A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.

Business woman on plane: Are there a lot of these kinds of accidents?

    Narrator: You wouldn't believe.

Business woman on plane: Which car company do you work for?

    Narrator: A major one."

Any TSB issued by the manufacturer is going to cost them (they have to pay the dealer to perform it as well as supply any ancillaries needed) so they are not issued lightly.

All that matters is that you're happy with the outcome dude. It's a brand new truck
you paid a lot of cash for. I've never understood all the back and forth over the money
    lost on a trade.

Regardless of paying too much or getting a good deal......Bottom line is being happy with your new ride.

I would think they have to see a significant number of complaints before issuing one. Plus someone on here even said if you don't watch the Salesperson on the test drive they will switch that ECT switch or whatever its called to improve performance, so if that is true then the issue has even trickled down to the Sales Staff.

They know of the issues at the lower levels, they actually tried to play off the hood delamination..."Oh that's a first"... "Umm no it isn't and you know it, sell that BS to someone who can't read or has no idea what the internet is." Laughter... "We'll order a new hood Mr. Goochwarmer".

Glad it worked out and they took care of you. As long as you're happy that's all that matters.

I just recently bought the 2016 with AT. I've had zero issues with mine. I think the power is great, but I am coming from a '13 4cyl 5 speed manual. I just know I'm very happy with it
