    Hello!

This pertains to my 2020 Tacoma Off-Road 6 speed manual, no remote start or keyless entry (Cement gang!).

I came across an issue with my current key fob not working all of a sudden (Unable to lock/unlock doors using the key fob).

At first I thought "Hmm, battery is probably dying, time to replace this thing!" After replacing the battery, the doors still would not lock/unlock with the key fob.

I went to grab my spare key fob and that too does not work.

Observing the interior, all dome lights/gauges are fully functional. Door switches on both driver/passenger functions normal. I'm stumped. Possibly a fuse? Door lock receiver gone bad?

Has anyone come across this issue? How did you solve this issue (hopefully without taking a trip to the stealership lol)?

    Thanks in advance! - James

Just to cover your bases try a fresh battery in the spare key fob as well on the chance that your daily use key fob is bad and the batteries in the spare are old.

The button cell batteries can have a coating on them that you need to remove. Little rubbing alcohol does the trick

I've tried various new batteries on both key fobs and still no dice with the doors locking/unlocking. I've also tried cleaning the key fobs/batteries for any shmutz and adjusting the connectors that hold the battery in place and contact. Maybe a fuse?

Didn't change my original yet, but will this afternoon.
I was worried the module was maybe bad, but again I did put a battery in my main key last week and it wouldn't work.
Maybe both batteries were shit, came form the same pack idk....just glad it's back to normal.

I am a lil fuzzy on this, but I THINK read way back when, that some had issues with various brands of CR2032 batteries and they were suspecting the thickness or other dimensions not making full contact. I'd think any CR2032 battery should have the same dimensions, but who knows?
I used Panasonic and had no issues with my fob.

Yeah it uses the 2016 battery, no push button start.
