That's a pretty good sized dent too for just laying it on it's side at 30mph

    ^^^this

Plus, I would imagine that the insurance is gonna require a report of some kind...if he didn't report, then.....there isn't one.

    Insurance will be like:

No sir, your life is not ruined!

No dead bodies, no broken limbs, no court dates AND you have insurance. You're good to go. You probably have to cough up a deductible, but life is not too bad.

Same thing happened to my cousin awhile back. He flipped his 88 xtra cab. What he wound up doing was he bought an 85 xtra cab with a good body, dirty interior, blown engine for almost nothing. He swapped his drivetrain and interior and has a nice truck now. It was a lot of work, and you may not be up to it. The insurance should give you fair market value and you could go get another similar truck. Or you could buy it back and fix it up. Lots of work though.

I wonder how much the lack of sway bar contributed to fishtailing. was the road bumpy and full of pot holes? you have updated suspension so hopefully that wasn't the issue. Maybe it was the KM2s? Assuming no to little human error of course....

Btw it seriously looks like all you need is a new door and pop a few dents out of the cab.

Only had it for about a month when this happened. Wasn't that experienced in winter driving and was still use to how a car handled and not a truck that was light in the ass. Hit black ice, fishtailed, then a 180*, then slid across the oncoming lane sideways into a ditch and rolled it. With my little brother in the passenger seat to boot. All we ended up with was a couple scratches. Drove the truck to the autobody shop the next day. Went without for a couple months and now it looks like this.

Insurance covered it, but my premium is butt rape, mostly because I'm a young male and I have some other stuff on my record.

Both my grandparents were killed in separate car accidents and my uncle was murdered with a truck. I know several other people that have died or been seriously injured in car accidents. Two of my friends rolled their trucks in the last month alone.

Your wallet is going to hurt some and it sucks, but your life is not ruined. Shit happens, just don't add anything to your driving record until the accident gets dropped off your record. It sucks now, but life will go on.

40-45ish when I started fishtailing. Not sure how much speed I lost by the time I rolled it. Don't think I looked at the speedo once trouble hit. Just started a string of expletives once I realized I was going for the ditch and probably rolling haha.

I'd guess that all those things except the driver and maybe the tires had zero to do with this

To the op..... your not hurt, and it seems no one else is either. not judging if you were drinking.... but if you were hammered, a dui / taking a life, cost more than the truck, so i think you came out on top. truck still runs, fuck it. the title of this thread "my life is ruined" would have been more true if something actually tragic happened, you wrecked your shit, it happens. your life is in fact not ruined, just the passenger side of the truck. youll be fine

Forgive me if this was covered allready... (didn't read through the whole thread.) In the state I live in it's illegal not to report an accident even when your the only one involved. I assume the op had the police involved and being he had just left the bar they checked his alcohol level and found him not to be over the limit correct?

Assuming insurance doesn't total yours, you will be getting a whole new cab essentially. Kind of a gamble with them. My friend flopped his yota and did $500ish less in damage to it, but his insurance totaled it. Go figure, pretty sure his dad was in there encouraging them to total it though lol. My insurance agent said they typically total a vehicle when the damage gets to 80% of the vehicle's value.

It was a pretty thorough rebuild on mine.

And of course after all that I still take the truck out and beat the shit out of it and dent and scratch it and all that. Sometimes this hobby makes me wonder about my sanity lol
