Picked this beauty up yesterday after a 3 week reservation wait!

    Mods already in the works:
    Blackout has begun
    Diamondback SE tonneau ordered
    Tyger 3.5 step bars ordered
TRD Pro OEM Skid Plate ordered
    Accent decal striping ordered (yellow/orange/red)
    Dog proofed back seat
Custom decal for sunroof in works

Considering removal of bed-wall decals and replacing with a custom design. Anyone have success removing them...looks like should be simple as vinyl removal.

This is so much fun! What am I missing...lol IMG_1252.jpg

Whoa! I’d put Corona bottle stickers on that thing. I wear a bright green helmet and vest when I ride my ebike also, and that thing is definitely going to be seen and be much safer than anything. Don’t be a jerk driving it through, everyone’s going to know who you are! It’s pretty though, I like it!

Haha...well I'm a pretty courteous driver, but I have always loved conspicuous vehicle colors and I've always wanted something in bright green. I waited longer just for the color.

If it wasn’t for the heat where I drive, I would’ve chosen that too. I had a bright green VW bus and loved it. I think people are going to be waving at you after a while also. Enjoy the ride, tacos are great!

Oh, one suggestion, I would recommend a dash cam - forward and aft also.

Get the fitcam one that plugs into your rearview mirror for power. It's the simplest / cleanest install and everyone on here likes em well enough (there's a thread if you search fitcam)

On the side decal removal...heat gun and patience. Put some heat to small section at a time and easy on the pulling and can take off larger sections. It being new, will be easier. They are more plastic than vinyl.
I did mine by hand and wd40 or alcohol for the residual glue. Slight cloudiness but shines back up with a polishing spray. No problems for me but other methods will surely be mentioned and could likely do the Google and find other threads/videos.

If you wanted to remove the plastic "chrome" to clean it up more, same thing with heat across emblem and fishing line or floss to "saw" between it and body. Should be able to apply some heat an get larger glue sections that is left and peel it away and rubbed off the smaller sections. Spray for residual glue "smear" left.

Look around/search function and can find about any information wanted. Primary wants as you've started and wait to see what you may need depending on intended use. Easy to get carried away with the mods.

There are a lot of opinions about which cameras to get - depends on your budget. I have a Vantrue model- I accidentally broke the rear camera Jack trying to install it and the company sent me a free replacement even though I said it was my fault. If you go with a rear window camera - use 3M tape- not the standard white foam tape. The 3M is very heat resistant even if the window gets hot in the full sun.

Before you get all lathered up with that mountain dew special, try logging on a few thousand miles...then decide what it lacks for what you use it for. Too many guys are sorry after jumping the gun. These tacoma's are very capable when left stock.
