Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
And if they're alloy rims, retorque them after 100 miles.

To add, you could have removed some lugs from the other wheels instead of getting towed.

Lesson learned: Never half ass putting your wheels back on. I took apart the rear end last week and just air wrenced them on. ALWAYS tighten them with your hands (and or torque wrench).

Gee, you learn all kinds of neat stuff here. Not so sure about hand tightening your lug nuts though.

Torque Wrench is the most important tool in the box. If you don't have one, get one.

    haha. I just did.

I got them pretty tight with the impact then torqued them by feel of a wrench. Obviously it's not perfectly accurate but I have a good idea of what 70ish ft lbs feels like from changing blades on the mowers so often.

I barely made it off the freeway and i didnt want to risk getting hit. Plus, i didnt know what actually caused my wheel to do that until i took it off. when i looked at the front of the tire i thought the whole lug came off or something. this is what it looked like.

i had a similar instance b/c my own fault back in the day too. i did my front brakes and hand tightened the lugs, dropped the jack, then completely forgot to torque em. coming around a curve the front drivers side tire popped off. luckily the truck sat so low that the front tire was inside the fender enough to keep a hold of it and the rotor hit the inside of the rim and grind, somewhat like yours did.
