I lost my mom to cancer a few years back, I understand your pain. Six years of fighting it ended with 3 days by her side in the hospital. Nothing can soothe the pain, but time does help. I was happy for her, when she passed, because she wasn't suffering anymore - I found peace in that. I don't know if anything I can say will help at the moment but I sincerely wish you and your family peace.

Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers. What a warm feeling you guys give!

Mom was laid to rest yesterday.

I feel a little odd saying this, but calling hours were a blast. My brothers, sister and I had such a great time welcoming all our extended family and friends, old and new, to say their goodbyes to mom. Lots of tears and laughs.

She was buried near my father (he passed in '77). Come spring, he will be moved next to her under a common stone. (In '77, mom was 33 with 5 kids, 2 through 11, and could not afford 2 burial sites).

It was a tough week for us, but her end was a Blessing from God to end close to 2 years of suffering through esophogeal cancer.

We are all promised eternal life with Christ if we believe His death paid our debt for sin that we cannot pay ourselves. No pain, no fear, no tears.

Thank You God for saving my mother, may she rest in peace with you.:amen:

I love you ma!:) You will be missed!:(

    Sorry to hear it John.
My Dad just passed away just before Christmas at the age of 83, it was tough watching his body die but he had a stroke a year before and was battling to get back to normal, it bothered him that he would never be the same and in the end we think this was better than being in a bed for the rest of his life.
It was nice to have the time, this last year, to say our goodbyes.
