So last year I retrofit Morimotos mini D2S HID's from TRS in my '13 DCSB and they're absolute SH!T SH!T SH!T.

Right off the hop they forgot to send out the bulbs (which I confirmed via email receipt I had paid for), one ballast was DOA, and one solenoid was DOA. Now I will credit TRS on this part, they did send out the bulbs, replacement ballast and solenoid PRONTO.

Now onto the alignment rings. These rings cause your beam pattern to be at 30* from horizontal, which you have to do surgery to either the housing to correct this or file off the alignment tab on the rings themselves which make their purpose in life useless. So now you have three options to choose from: 30* headlights, permanent surgery to your housing (most people choose the mini's to avoid permanent mod to their housings, otherwise they'd go with FXR's), or option 3 is to file off that tab and now over time your headlights will eventually bounce and vibrate themselves off from horizontal, as mine have started to do.

One side flickers like a savage bastard. I confirmed its the ballast by swapping it to the opposite side. I tried clipping one of those EMI magnets around the wires, no change.

The halos they sent out have a huge tab sticking off the side of them where the electrical leads connect, which they must photoshop these tabs out of the pics on their website because they're not visible on any pic they have up. Their pics show the lead connecting to the backside of the halo. Also the rings while they're off are yellow, and on their website that ring is pure white while off.

I cannot stress how much of a waste of money this setup was. If anyone wants this setup for cheap, keep an eye out on the buy/sell forums soon... or I might throw the whole kit in the god damn dumpster, haven't decided yet.

    End rant.

Have you tried contacting @TRSAndrew ?
Ran multiple kits with no problems, theyve always had amazing customer service towards me.
    Maybe you got a dud?
Anyways sorry to hear you've had so many problems with your kit..

No I have not. Didn't see any point since this kit is garbage and I need a whole new setup. I read a bunch of positive reviews about this setup and thats what sold me on it.

I won't deny the awesome-ness of their customer service, they were friendly, helpful and paid for the shipping of those replacement parts.

But right now I'm not sure if I got a dud kit, or if their product is simply SH!T and those reviews I read were for some other brand, or if their QC department were all drunk when they put mine together (if they have a QC section).

I too ran through multiple kits with no problems. Warranty here and there but they're fast to respond.

The alignment ring is not TRS' fault. For some odd reason, toyota mounted their y shaped h4 slots slightly off straight to the right. You can always put some jb weld from the lock nut to the reflector so it wouldn't move.

As for the halos, I'm not sure about that. I know back in the day, like way back when they first started, their halos were yellow off and white on. Now, they're all white off and white on. I'm not sure what tabs you're talking about. Their newest version does have three little tabs so you can easily attach them to shrouds, but if you don't want that option, you can always dremel it off.

    Update!

This morning I went and started my truck and as I put in reverse I thought my headlights looked dimmer than usual. So I get out to see whats going on... and sure enough, my driverside is dead as a doornail.

This kit is by far the biggest waste of F**KING money I've ever spent on anything in my entire life.

While everyone else seems to be loving their garbage product... I'm going to stick with telling everyone I know to stay the F**K AWAY!

If you feel like pissing away money, just transfer me the funds... the end result will be the same... you'll be down a few hundred bucks and without working headlights.
