I believe the cushions are the rubber bushings at the top and bottom mounting points for the shock. Maybe people are more comfortable paying too much for stealership prices when they don't know what they are paying for?

So the dealer is unaware of the issues and will sell to the next unsuspecting individual and bash the dealer rep for selling a bad vehicle? Plus it doesn't sound like the next guy who buys it used will have the same protections. Truly a case of buyer beware. Not judging; maybe I would do the same under similar circumstances?

Yes. But there are only two of those per side. There are three different cushions noted all at a single quantity along with two different cushion retainers that might be the washers.

Maybe later my curiosity will catch up with me and I'll search them.

So they did the shocks and top hats, and cab mounts. LMAO! They did both!
Rebuilt the Coil over and replaced the cab mount.

Interested in hearing what the Tech will say on Mon.

Thanks for googling that for me.

Just one cab mount? If so, that's what happened with @WrecklessAbandon , among other fun things . . . :bananadead:

Dealer should have offered the TRD lift kit for 1/2 the cost, and free installation.

You're right, it's been a while since I changed my fronts, but after looking, it appears there may be only one cushion at the top of the absorber, the other two cushions on the invoice have the suffix "CA" and would maybe be Control Arm Bushings? Them missing would explain a "clunk" when turning!
Must have been a Monday build truck:drunk:

Goodness. Given the prices that float around for the OEs, it would have been cheaper to swap the entire LCA than press bushings. A guy got a good looking aftermarket one for about $70?

Hopefully, @danadavenport is set. I'm pretty confident he'll be good to go no matter what once the new suspension is in there.

No thread that starts with "something is wrong with my new truck" ever ends without someone bringing up the lemon law. Hah!

Yes exactly. Don’t blame the buyer either. Blame Toyota for letting a faulty build slip through their quality control and blame the dealer for not having the decency to fix the vehicle under warranty. Nobody consumer in their right mind should eat the cost of a manufacturer or dealers bullshit and yes, I proudly sold my POS truck to a dealer to let someone else take the problem off my hands. They are however, awarded the same protections that I was as a new car buyer. So basically they can lemon it once again if they have the same experience with it.

I think that's why Toyota won't build any yellow TRD Pro's and is the reason behind the Lime Green theme for 22.

    BINGO ajb7074!

It wasn't my fault, blame lies squarely on the dealer and manufacturer. I paid in good faith, was patient with service, and abided by their warranty and the protections afforded under the law. Had I disclosed the rich lemony content upon trade in, I would have suffered monetarily for something not my fault. This is why I sued in the 1st place: I was at risk of losing value due to their negligence/incompetence/poor quality or worse, may have had to pay out of pocket for non-warranty repairs as a result. Yes, someone bought it after me. Buying a used vehicle has an inherent risk. Apparently, so does buying a new one with full warranty.

For the record, I'm 57 and NEVER sued anyone in my life until that POS Ford. However, I will hi-jack threads on Fridays.:rofl::rofl:

Yep, I have a set of 5100's ready to go in now they they have replaced them with new factory shocks .:bananadance: I will know and update here mon when the tech calls me. Sounds like the the shock and bushings were not the issue but rather the cab mount that everyone suggested.

So I have to ask if I’m being a little ridiculous. Remember my truck has 400 miles on it to date. First 200 we’re on the hwy coming from dealer.

when I got home I was looking over the truck because it’s still new to me and I’m excited about it. I noticed the tire on the passenger side ( that they worked on) looks like its scrubbing and not running straight. As far as I can tell from the repair order they replaced the right shock and body mount. Should they have done an alignment after?

They didn't change the suspension geometry so no need for alignment.

I kind of though the same thing but they worked on the right front suspension and now all of a sudden that tire is getting eaten up. Just odd

If the height of the truck didn't change and they didn't mess with the LCA cam tabs, then everything should be the same as before. If you're worried just take it in for an alignment.

Edit - also it would be really hard to see uneven wear on a tire with such few miles

They were most likely cornering it hard to check for the issue. Might even have been driving in circles to listen.

You'll end up needing an alignment after you toss in the new parts anyway.

FYI, Toyota warranties the alignment 1 time in the first 12 months or 10,000 miles whatever comes first. My alignment was off at about 3,000 miles and I took it in and they fixed it for free. But in my opinion if they messed with the suspension they should have checked your alignment then too since it’s possible the alignment was fine when things were “broken” and now that it’s fixed things don’t line up the same way as they did before.
