no problem, i like linex alot. i got hooked years ago when i did the racks
and brush bars on my atv.

Hey do you think you could do me a favor and take a pic of what the fog spread is like? I have one of these bumpers ordered but on hold.

 

na, i won't be washing my truck for the next 5 or 6 months, they
will have enough haze on them. lol

do you mean the distance b/w the piaa lights ?
or what they look like at night turned on ?
here is more straight on picture, i can measure it if you like.
i drilled it so they would be close to the bars. it was easy to drill,
i used 3 diffrent size bits, to get the size i needed. a very small one
for a pilot hole, another that split the diffrence, and the final. i just
didn't want to screw it up. that was a easy way to do it.

 

No i meant the light pattern of the Hella's. It is close to the stock fog pattern?

 

i would say as good or better, it is tough to say b/c i rarely used them.
don't have alot of fog here, every once and awhile in the moring, but
it is usually light by the time i am driving.

i have been real impressed with the light they put out b/c they are alot smaller than the stock lights.

 

Quick question, how did you mount the hellas to the bumper? It's obvious you didn't use the bracket that comes in the kit- did you have to drill holes or what? Did you use the harness that came with them or splice into the factory fogs (or is that possible?) thanks!

well i wanted fogs in my bumper and cbi suggested the hella micros.
i used the bracket that came with the lights. they made the housing
especially for the lights. i just bolted them in there, with the bracket that came with the lights, it was cake. i just spliced into the wires that were for the factory fogs, and they work great. i did not have to drill any holes in the bumper except for where i mounted my piaa lamps on top.

 

I finally received my front and rear CBI bumpers early last week n they're at the powdercoaters. I saw on the front bumper how the micro hella's will mount- makes sense now! Thanks for your reply. I'll have them powdercoat both front and rear in a semi gloss black then have just the road facing angles line-xed. Should have them on sometime next week. Thanks again!
