I saw this. It looks great. I’ll either do this or tear off the bull bar and do a diamond back. Everyone hates the bull bar but it does make the TH look distinctive. I like that about it. It also adds bed rigidity.

I plan on keeping that corner piece. Not that the bed needs stiffening, but just to point out to the Ranger Raptor owners that their noodle beds need something like this. Then I can point down below and show them what a non-noodle frame looks like.

And then I can also point to their brittle intake valves and comment sumptin', sumptin' about ticking time bombs.

Seems like the problem was identified, addressed, and corrected while 22-23 Tundras continued to spin bearings with no acknowledgement from Toyota that there could be a problem, maybe a six month timeline where the defectivevalves went into engines. I still might go with GMC for my next truck, or something normally aspirated. It's mostly turbo charged gas motors being recalled.

It would be a toss up between between a RCSB 1500 4x4 or a Tacoma XC SR 4x4.

Does your trailhunter look or feel lower in the front than back. Just wondering if it needs a leveling spacer. Thanks

Toyota supposedly gave it an inch in the front and half inch in the rear. It IMHO still looks raked. But, I intend to put a lot of stuff in the back (topper, gear, fuel, water, etc). My 3G OR ended up level when I did the same to it.

Yea. Thanks man. I guess I’ll wait til I add on my bed rack and other stuff and measure. I just try to plan ahead because everything takes longer to get to Hawaii.

So that was the reason for the quality hold for a month and half. I had forgotten all about this part left in my truck:

Now we no how long it takes to go back to the drawing board and replace something.

So while we are still adjusting to vehicle pricing, my ppf dealer warned me things are going to be shocking there too. He wasn't lying:

Well my msrp is $64,275. Only added the ectro rust and corrosion protection from dealer. $695. Total with tax and all doc fees around $68500. They tried to sell all the options and extras but I denied. But have to pay about 1k to ship from Oahu to big island. So basically the most expensive truck I’m buying to date. I’m with you on this post

They replaced it at the quality hold and left the old part in the truck. I was completely clueless until your post and now know what the QH was about.

Wow that's a lot, are these trucks more labor intensive? There are a lot of angles. I don't think I'd want to spend that much on PPF but I can see wanting to protect the truck it's expensive and keeping the resale value up.

I think the price markup is on the film side. Comparing the invoice from my 3G, the installer officially charged the same rate. But, I don't know how much of the film cost is baked in on his side. And I don't know who is actually telling the truth when asked.
