Dont blame your age. The internet became public in 1993 when you were in your 40s.

People our age are the actual internet developers and pioneers.

Yes. A sterling 5 lug model. With an actual transmission dipstick!

That’s why you don’t know anything about the 3rd Gen interior. Those rubber “bits” as you call them have been around for years.

Problem with that when i bought my truck there were none of the type wanted on dealers lots. I ended up test driving a 4 cylinder access cab which wasn't very impressive. At any rate the 2 month wait for my sr5 was well worth it.

    Title: My new SR5 sucks
Issue: colored interior panels that you thought you could modify
    OP: I love the truck.

So your SR5 doesn't suck. You're just upset about something you saw in person, signed off on, and then realized it would be harder to modify than you thought....

I would just drive it, wouldn't get rid of the truck for small cosmetics. You can get replacement parts from LKQ.

If the interior is similar to the 2020's, imo, it looked good....whats the problem?

The dealership's interior guy said he wouldn't reapohlster because he doesn't think the glue would stick to the rubberized surface. It is a strange surface - feels like the bottom of a rubber sole on a walking shoe. What sort of "glue" would you use?

Its certainly all in the "eye of the beholder", but my wife and I just don't like the color.

I dunno, just throwing an Idea out there like you asked. But find an car interior shop near you and they'll let you know what they can do.

Just paint it! Had the same dislike for my red panels on the SR5 and painted them all black with vinyl paint. 6 months and still holding up.

Thinking I might be able to find an older SR 5 in a junkyard that has black panels. Does anyone out there know if these panels are the same shape as others that may be black on other model years?
