Looks like quality parts. Make sure you get the 1/4" spacer on one front strut to counter the taco lean. Also, if you are planning on removing the overload spring with the AAL install for a better riding 1.5" rear lift (vs 2" left in) no drop bracket or shims should be required.

It's for extra weight, but if you plan on installing a bed cap or even rear bumper it might help. I think you can even take a leaf out for a better ride.

You could use the Wheelers 3 leaf pack and save a little $$. Out back I'm running the Wheelers leaf pack and the Icon vs shocks. I didn't require a pinion shim or a carrier bearing drop. The truck has 13k miles on it since the lift and I've had no driveline issues..

Wheelers/icon/Toytec progressives are all the same, so go with whichever is cheaper.

I didnt go Dakar because they provided too much lift. They give 2.75" or 2.25" with a leaf removed, and some people report getting more.

I was told the same thing regarding progressive AAL. Icon, Wheelers or Toytec will all net the same results. I went with the Wheelers and am pleased. As a bonus the Wheelers is normally $50 cheaper and your order will include free candy. Wheelers has top-notch customer service.

You could probable upgrade to the Icon coil overs for $250-$300 more, since they come assembled. A Black Friday sale may even further close the gap.

No thanks don't need any issues with the corrosion and rusting of the threads here in New England.

I'm in Maryland and also deal with the the salted roads. I spray the coil overs with silicone spray when I wash the truck and haven't had any corrosion in the year and 13k miles that they've been on the truck. I normally wash it once a week, but I've been known to skip a week when it's cold out.

I'd suggest doing the same even if you go with the Bilsteins. I had Bilsteins 5100s on my last truck and they rusted, due to my neglect.

Since you mention that, I'm not sure if the 6112s have the same cosmetic surface corrosion on the bare aluminum bodies like the Bajas based on the 6112. If so, or just to be safe, you should wipe them down in Fluid Film. It is a self healing spray coating that stops corrosion available at Lowes.

Makes sense. I looked at the Wheelers 1.5 Progressive AAL and once you add the U bolts not really much cheaper than the Icon set. They make those neoprene covers for the Icon's as well I wonder how they work for Winter protection

The Wheelers AAL comes with the U-Bolts.

I thought about the Icon covers, but thought they may trap moisture. I'd hate to remove them only to find a rusted shock. I little preventive maintence will take care of corrosion problems and I'd rather inspect and treat regularly, then replace...

If you remove the overload you can reuse the OEM u-bolts, so new ones are not necissary.
