Ok, so I started this exact same project myself with a 2012 DCLB Base Model V6. Putting the inverter itself in is easy as is wiring the harness to the rear of the truck. The hard part is the front stuff. The cable from your inverter that actually takes the power from the electrical system will terminate in the engine bay on the passenger side. I looked all over my truck and there is no harness from there to the relay compartment which is where you need to go next. My truck did not have the relay for the inverter system, nor the fuse, nor the wiring from power source to fuse and relay. I had wiring in the dash for the switch and it is connected as my switch will light up when pressed. However, the wiring from the switch to the relay to start the flow of power does not terminate at the relay box like it should. I have no idea where it terminates at this point. I was planning to take the dash apart and follow it when it got warmer out.

If I had to start again, I would probably just go with the aftermarket inverter as everyone else suggests. If you do continue on this, please let me know how it goes.

I'll be using the outlet to charge batteries occasionally (I play airsoft and power isn't available at a lot of locations we play at). I also thought it would be nice to use a single cup Keurig to make coffee or hot chocolate.

I have a base model, regular cab, 4 cylinder truck. I've looked and my truck doesn't have any of the wiring so I will need everything. I guess the inverter was available in the ext. cabs and dual cabs only.

Here's a diagram if you need it.

Here are some part numbers I dug up while searching on the internet. Parts are for a 2015 Tacoma quad cab. I went with the specific harness because the plugs are under the truck (covered by the plastic piece) instead of under the seat.
The main harness part number is 82165-04071 (no picture).
There is one cover for the interior that is on back order. It should be here March 12th.
