    I have a Nikkor 50mm 1.4 and it has to be my favorite lens it's perfect for portrait photography! :) This is a shot I took of my little brother when we were in Utah

    did you have the 50mm 1.8 before getting the 1.4? I have a d300 w/ 50mm 1.8 and I'm debating if its worth it.

    nope i went straight for the 1.4

    i think its worth it.. the auto focus is awesome on it (if im not mistaken the 1.8 doesnt have autofocus)

    If you already have the 1.8 just stay with it...I don't think the price on the 1.4 to the 1.8 is really justifiable when you already have a 1.8 I mean the 1.8 is about $100 and the 1.4 runs anywhere between $350-$500 unless you are getting a smoking deal don't worry about it.

    the 1.8 does have autofocus, thanks for the feedback. i have the 50mm 1.8, sigma 18-200, and a 10-20mm lens. I think next i might get a 35mm 1.8 for easier shooting inside
